Born in Tehran of a Persian father and German mother, talented young German actress Jasmin Tabatabai studied acting at the State High School for Music and Performing Arts, then played in theaters in Stuttgart and Potsdam. Since 1990 she also sang in various bands, first in the jazz/funk group Eskimo's Ecstasy, then in the country/rock band Even Cowgirls Get the Blues.
Her screen career got the first major boost after Die Mediocren (1995), and after Bandits (1997), she became one of the most promising new actresses in German cinema. ~ Yuri German, All Movie Guide.
