I want to know if someone here is acquainted with the book the movie is based on: 'Siesta: Super Natural Love Story' by Patrice Chaplin?

Pretentious
Added 3/3/2009
This reminds me some artsy films I was forced to watch in film school. Because it is obsure and pretentious, we're supposed to believe it's deep. Ellen Barkin dashes around in her own nightmare in a strappy, red dress. She's like Super Girl with dementia who doesn't know where she's going or why. The best thing about the film is Gabriel Byrne as a Spaniard. He's the only convincing thing about the movie. If you want to chuckle at a bewildering and self-important film, rent this. Better yet, buy my used copy.

Disappointing
Added 3/4/2007
This movie according to other reviews from previous buyers left me hoping for more. Frankly did not understand, maybe it was just me. Ellen Barkin is a beautiful lady, but was poorly utilized in this movie. Would not recommend to anyone. She wore that red dress out and constantly on the run.

Exotic, filmed in Spain; great soundtrack (Miles Davis); Definitely not for the kiddies, adult subject matter. Short "Fellini-esque". I liked the twist at the end.
