I was mislead when I thought this was a De Niro movie,,he's only in it a few times and if you like movies with voo doo, blood, guts and a heart rollin around on the floor, go for it,, showing De Neros face on the front of the dvd is really misleading...

Now this movie is really on point! My man Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro played good roles in this film. And oh I can't forget Lisa Bonet! She is sexy as hell in this movie! When i watch the sex scene part when mickey rourke and lisa bonet was doing it, it felt like im watching a porno movie! And not to mention that this movie has a suprising twist! And who ever said that this movie sucks its obviously that they don't have good taste in movies cause sometimes their opinion dosen't count! But anyway i love this movie! I couldn't get it nowhere eles. But amazons got the best stuff and the best gifts! Thanks Amazon! Ya'll are bout it! Do whatcha do!

I saw this movie a long time ago when it first came out. But I bought this for a friend, to add to his horror collection. In fact I purchased this and another movie called Mr. Frost, also from Amazon. The gift's running theme was the Devil and I thought Robert De Niro's performance as Satan in Angel Heart was excellent. Along with Jeff Goldblum in Mr. Frost. Just wonderful acting. For myself, my favorites as far as who played God's most beloved angel but got the boot are these 2, plus Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy, and John Glover in Brimstone. Broke my heart when they didn't continue with the series. His version of the Devil was outstanding. Sighs.. He will be missed.. RIP.

Horrible, nasty. Why is film with this content found to be "entertaining"? Just because it has "stars" in it, does not mean that is an excuse to accept the degrading, unedifying misogynistic, racist nastiness. The murder scene at the end is particularly disturbing and leads you to wonder how far civil rights have really come when certain white male film makers, given the chance to portray their fantasies divise this kind of degrading death for the "love interest" with all its disturbing metaphors. Perhaps no very far at all. All involved should be ashamed of partipating in it and the public of bying into nonsense, intellectualising it and allowing people to make money from glamorising oppression. Identifying with such content is degrading to a viewer who sees this as positive in any way. If you find this "good" than you should take a look at yourself. Why is it ok to "feel" something when watching a film regardless of what it is? Why enjoy seeing other people degrade themselves and suffer? What are films like this doing to us as human beings? If this is people's idea of fun, hope I don't sit next to you on the train.
I wanted to select no stars whatsoever for this filth but did not know how to do it.
