Bad, really bad!

I had not seen this film in years! I remembered it being okay, however after 19 years have passed, it has aged tremendously. The score is bad, bad acting, stupid zombies that look like extras from Thriller, and funny scenes that are not even funny. Stick with the first one.

I went to see this movie in 1988 with a lot of expectations but i found out that this is not even a sequel, the zombies are different and nothing make sense,is just a silly comedy. In reality the original ROTLD dont have any sequels, they only use the name to make this jokes with different directors.ROTLD is unique and is too bad there was never a real sequel from director Obannon.

The dead are back!

A gang of kids accidentally release of mysterious gas which wakes up the inhabitants of an adjacent graveyard. The zombies want only one thing and that's BRAINS and there are plenty of them in the local town which has been sealed off by the army.
Yup. Pretty much like the first one. James Karen and Thom Mathews are back, and in roles nearly identical to their roles in Return Of The Living Dead. Despite that fact, I really did enjoy ROTLD2 on it's own merit. If you can ignore the blatant similarities with the first ROTLD, you should enjoy it just as I did.

Yamahama, It's Fright Night

The 80's was an interesting time in the horror genre. It came packed with some of the worst ever made along with many loved classics like The Shining, Creepshow, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Thing, and tonight's feature Return of the Living Dead Part II. Depending on the viewer either you love this one or hate it. As far as Sid goes we give it the green light since it supplies the right amount of horror & laughs to provide a great late night viewing experience.
The story begins with some curious kids who happen to come across a mysterious barrel. This barrel was used in some type of military experiment and obviously wasn't meant to be found. As the kids pry they finally get the lid opened and unleash a strange green gas that spreads over the local cemetary. As the gas seeps into the ground some 80's punk rocker type kids are welcomed by the sight of the walking dead. Unfortunately for them these zombies are not the type that can barely walk. The seem to have all the movement abilities as a live person which makes things more interesting. They round up as many people as possible who are still living to try and put an end to the zombie infestation.
This one may not have been as successful as the first Return of the Living Dead, but was still a fun watch. It's pretty much the exact same premise as the first with a few changes sprinkled in. Sure it's not Night of the Living Dead and nor should you look at it in that light. It's really like a take off with more gore and more humor 80's style. If you are a fan of the genre then you should enjoy this. We will recommend this one by saying it IS one we would have enjoyed back in the glory days.
