Plot: CIA director Snyderburn (Joe Don Baker) talks former agent Leonard (Bill Cosby) into returning to the job in this failed Bond-style spy comedy. Leonard's mission is to stop the evil Medusa (Gloria Foster) from taking over the planet by controlling the behavior of the world's animals. The highlight of the film is when lobsters, fish, and frogs begin to attack the humans in a reversal of the food chain. Jane Fonda makes a brief appearance as she talks to Leonard while filming one of her exercise videos. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

Hilarious camp movie
Added 5/8/2009

Don't be fooled, this is an hilarious movie. It's over the top, illogical, and camp--and that's what makes it great. It's humor that doesn't take itself seriously and very much worth seeing.

Not good but not THAT bad
Added 3/1/2009

It's popular to call "Leonard Part 6" one of the worst movies ever made and it's certainly not a good movie, but it's far from the worst movie ever made.

The main problem with the movie is that the script is so disjointed. The main plot revolves around how ex-CIA-agent Leonard Parker, who now owns a restaurant, goes out of retirement to fight some killer animals controlled by the evil Medusa Johnson (entertainingly played by Gloria Foster (today better known as "The Oracle" in "The Matrix"). Then there's a subplot about how Leonard tries to reconcile with his wife who's left him, and there's a subplot that involes his daughter wanting to get married to a much older man and wanting to be an actress, so Leonard has to go see her show. All of this is more or less irrelevant to the main plot.

The main plot, then, is very silly but that's to be expected from a comedy. But it's only occasionally funny. There's a recurring joke about how Leonard's wife pours food on him that is just weird and hard to believe anyone would find funny. But still, the movie is watchable and certainly not as bad as, for example, Charlie's Angels. It's more on the level of "Spy Kids" (except for the disjointed plot). So Cosby fans may want to check it out, others needn't bother to seek it out, but it's not so bad it's not worth watching on TV if there's nothing better on.

Even worse than parts 1-5!!!!!...!

Haha. That's just a joke. There is only part 6. That was supposed to be a joke too. Now you don't know about this movie because there was actually a cover-up initiated by The Cos himself because he was so embarrassed about it!

After you sit through the painful, hand drawn credit-sequence you get to watch the only part of the film worth watching! This is extremely handy because you now no longer have to watch the rest of the movie. They were nice enough to put the funniest parts of the film, spliced together at the beginning of the film for us! In a split second we see: a tank car soaring through the air, Cos in a spacesuit dancing ballet w/ pink ballet slippers, and Cos in a janitor's uniform riding an ostrich through a roaring ball o' fire!!! By the time this sequence is over you will be rolling on the floor laughing, struggling to keep your head so you don't miss the rest of this hilarious film.

But you wait and wait. That's it, that was the only part of the film worth watching. You will get to see these scenes again, but what's the point? You've already seen them and in context they aren't even half as funny. This movie is supposed to be the Cosby Show meets James Bond. The plot involves some animal rights terrorists and the Cos has to stop them. Along the way he has probs with his wife and daughter which eventually get solved in the end.

It's supposed to be a comedy, but the jokes are lame and unoriginal and struggle too hard to be funny, not unlike Michael Richards after a long day at the Laugh Factory. Only you won't get an insincere apology from this turkey.

The most painful part of this movie is seeing the wonderful and talented Bill Cosby being raped of all respect from this shameless failure in cinema. I can't let the Cos off too easy though. He COULD have livened things up. He COULD have at least made a Jell-o pudding pop joke.

When all is said and done we cannot let Cos escape this miserable failure. He must atone for his sins. Reporters, ask him about this movie at EVERY opportunity. Fans, during his live appearances shout "Free Leonard!...Part 6!" Presidents of global imperial powers, detain Cos for questioning, water board him until he admits that he made this miserable failure. Force him to pay reparations for what this movie has done!

UNFUNNY IS JUST A OVERSTATEMENT

First off, yes it's true Bill Cosby denounce his own film he actually wrote and produced. That gives every right for critics to bash this film. Yes, Leonard Part 6 have some over the top silly moments and have a ridiculous plot that clearly don't need to be taken serious like killer animals that kill at the command of "quelish". Even though it's considered the worst movie it has a great soundtrack. Yes, it's cheesiest at it's best, but there's scenes in the film that work like the restaruant scene where everything goes wrong for the hitman that tries to kill Leonard fyi classic in my opinon. I agree with Mr. Cosby about his reason for falling out with the director which was because of the feud Leonard and his wife had about something soo stupid that a real marriage couple wouldn't fight over for a long period of time as they do in the movie. So, if you're willing to risk buying or renting this crazy time of a movie which now has become a cult raspy classic then do so. Believe it or not I've seen worser movies hint like "dude where's my car","lost in space",ect. So if you like brainless stupid humor then this movie is the epitome of stupid and silliness just think of it as airplane or naked gun with no real strings attached. So allow yourself to indulge in crazy humor and allow to ask yourself what was Bill Cosby thinking when he made this movie. This DVD has no commentary or deleted scenes which I can understand why WITH A MOVIE LIKE THIS IT'S JUST SPEECHLESS. And the reason why I gave it four stars because I don't think it's terrible as critics say it is it sure do has it's moments though.
