A cult classic in my book......

Admittedly, I didn't like this movie when I first saw it in the theaters. It had a few laughs, but mostly I thought the story was really far fetched and stupid. Yet, for whatever reason some of the funny lines just stuck with me and kept sticking to me years later.

Finally, I saw the movie again years later on VHS and realized that I was just taking it to seriously the first time around. Somehow I missed that it was never intended to be serious film. Once I relaxed and kicked back, I found I really enjoyed this movie. As mentioned, it's got some really memorable and funny lines. Everything from the "Got to get BIGGER GUNS" to "Well, Satan's in a lot sh@t!". I'm sure Rutger had a blast while making this movie and it shows in every hammy delivery he makes. I've watched it several times since.

I was fortunately enough to buy a new DVD copy before prices went through the roof. At the current prices being asked for, I think I would pass. If you can find a deal however, I definitely think it's worth the bucks if you're a Hauer fan.

Good Movie, but not for that money!!!

I own the VHS Copie of this Movie, and I must say it is a classic. I'm very disappointed to see that people are trying to sell this movie for as much as $158.00. I think that's a little outragious and no wonder why people go out and download these movies illegally. I'd probably do the same. Also when you want to put that $ sign down at a reasonable price, then you might get a sale. Untill then, I won't Pay that much for a dvd. Period!!

I can't believe they are charging this much for this movie.

I have loved Rutger Hauer since I saw Ladyhawke and will watch almost anything with him in it. We really like this movie but there is no way I would give over $15 for it. We have watched it over and over on VHS! I wanted to replace it with DVD. Although it is classic, it is not worth the prices being charged - especially when there are better Rutger movies out there going for a lot less.

I rented this movie from the store, and I like it alot at the time, Infact enough to go back and by the tape at that time. I still have the tape and I have wanted the dvd version for a while. This copy is from region 4 and therefore won't play in american dvd players, but If you know how you can get around that then this copy is fine. This european version was much cheaper then the american version. So If you know how to watch it and you like this movie this is a good alternate buy to the more expensive version.

Split Second is one of my most re-watched movies in my collection. Sadly, my VHS copy is in bad shape because of this. I would love to own a DVD copy but it is out of print and as great a movie as it is The used prices are rediculous. Anyone who pays over $20 for a used copy is a desperate fool. Anyone who sells it for that, well, lucky you.
