The GREATEST ending EVER in a FILM
Added 9/27/2009

No One could come close to Diana Ross when this movie came out.She had the World at her feet, and she went for it.This movie showed all of her talents,Her acting, singing, and glamour.
This movie is about a struggling fashion worker becoming the top model of the world .
"The theme from Mahogany" is probally one of my favorite songs from Ross.Do you know where your going to? That says it all.
The part I LOVE most about this movie is the ending.I've never seen a MORE happier ending ever in my life.I will never understand WHY Diana Ross didn't become a HUGE movie star after "Lady Sings the blues," and "Mahogany."

Diana at her best!

I love Mahogany! It is one of Diva Diana's best movies. She is a fashion icon and one that young black women can aspire to. Billy Dee's classic line "Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with" is so true! If you enjoy a dramaedy then you'll enjoy this.

" My Diva Diana!"
Added 6/20/2009

After "Lady Sings The Blues" became not only a boxoffice hit but a critical smash, Paramount wanted to capitilize on the allure of Diana Ross at the movies. Fresh from winning an Oscar nomination as Best Actress for "Lady", Diana stars in this small film about a woman who grew up poor in the projects to being one of the most famous fashion designers in the world. The movie is definitely a Diana Ross film in more ways than one; the script was tailored for her and there is a lot of Diana in the lines of the film. It was actually Diana's first choice in her younger days to be a fashion designer, but ultimately her powerful voice gave way to her becoming one of the greatest singers of all-time. Most of the fashions used in "Mahogany" are Diana Ross originals. Diana also demanded, and got, her "Lady" co-star Billy Dee Williams for this film, and their chemistry is impeccable. The theme from "Mahogany" titled "Do You Know Where Your going To?" is one of the most beautiful and haunting movie songs ever. The DVD is pretty much a barebones edition but it comes in widescreen and is enhanced for 16.9 TVs, a photo gallery is included, and english subtitles are a part of the package.
