Plot: If you think you've seen a man killing someone, does that mean you shouldn't be dating him? This and other questions about modern relationships are explored in this offbeat romantic comedy. Amanda Pierce (Monica Potter) has found a great job (restoring paintings for the Metropolitan Museum of Art) and a great place to live: a spacious East Side apartment that she shares with four successful models, played by Ivana Milicevic, Shalom Harlow, Sarah O'Hare, and Tomiko Fraser. Amanda is still in the market for a great boyfriend, since most of her previous relationships have ended in broken promises or infidelity. She thinks she may have found the right guy in Jim Winston (Freddie Prinze Jr.), but she has reason to believe that he might be guilty of murder. Since she's not sure he has actually done anything, she decides to find out the truth, and her investigation has unexpectedly comic consequences. Head Over Heels was directed by Mark S. Waters, whose first feature, The House of Yes, also starred Freddie Prinze Jr.. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Refreshing for its sweetness and innocence
Added 10/24/2008

This film is not Oscar material - no best picture or best actor/actress nominations need apply. Yet Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julia Styles give commanding and poignant performances that portray young, innocent, enduring true love, making this a classy flick.

If you're looking for a romantic and light-hearted movie, get this. It's refreshing and it will make you smile.

Down to You
Added 5/14/2008

This movie was very lame. I bought it because henry Winkler was in it. he is not in it very much, and the other Freddie Prince, Jr. and Julia Stiles ruined the movie with their bad acting, and nonattractiveness. Henry was good.

As cheesy as this sounds
Added 5/28/2007

Ok, so this movie is far from a work of art. At best it's a cheesy high school chick flick. Maybe it just came out at a time I could completely relate to the story (broke up with my high-school boyfriend) but I still love this movie even today. In fact, last year I asked my sister for the DVD for my bday, and I love it just as much.

Imagine played by Julia Stiles, whom I love is an indepent girl who falls for Alfred played by Prinze Jr. His innocence is adorable, and their story is cute, and magical. It's a very typical college experience for the most part. They break-up only to later re-unite. It's just a very cute movie, and it doesn't hurt that Prinze JR. is a total babe too!

Quirky and funny
Added 11/14/2009

Obviously, being Australian, I love this movie because of Sarah's part in it - and she's just plain funny in the role of a blonde model from Down Under. It's an enjoyable movie that doesn't strain the brain; just sit back, look at the eye candy that is Freddie Prinze Jnr and for the boys, 5 gorgeous girls to look at throughout the whole move - what's not to like about that?! *grins* It might not be Academy Award material, but it's a good, lighthearted romantic-comedy with a bit of intrigue and adventure thrown in. I loved it.

A Sweet Romantic Comedy
Added 9/25/2009

If you are looking for an upbeat romantic comedy, this movie is for you. And Monica Potter is hilarious in this role. There are moments where you cannot help but laugh. Even my husband, who does not normally care for this genre, was laughing during some of the scenes. Yes, there are some cheesy moments, but that is part of most 'sweet' movies charm. I too have caught this movie on cable TV more than once, and have purchased my own copy. If you enjoy this type of movie, I recommend "50 First Dates" and "The Wedding Singer", both with Adam Sandler. Though with more of an edginess to it, I also suggest "Angel Eyes" with Jennfier Lopez.

Confusing
Added 6/3/2009

I found this when I did a search for "Chilly Scenes of Winter." While "Chilly Scenes of Winter" was released on video under the title "Head Over Heels," this is not the same movie. That said, this is a cute movie, though lightweight.
