Not what it might have been

I expected this movie to be a lot better than it was, based on the previews and the premise. With a premise like that it could have been great. It really wasted the opportunity to be a great movie. I have to put at least part of that failure on Adam Sandler's shoulders. His sarcastic and lowest common denominator attitude colored the whole movie in shades of bleah. But the writing was also lousy at times - in particular, the Bedtime Stories were pretty pathetically done. Wouldn't you think that in a movie called Bedtime Stories the stories would actually be fun, funny, or just plain good? No, the stories were like lousy SNL skits. I realize that the kids were helping make the story, but their additions were not really the problem. Anyway, the plot of the actual story was also poorly done.
My feeling is that this could have been a GREAT movie and instead ended up as just another fairly bad Adam Sandler type of movie. That said, there are some amusing moments, Keri Russell is divine as always, and Russell Brand was fairly funny. The kids did fine, although it would be nice to just one time see a boy in a movie who doesn't have Little Kid Big Hair syndrome (pet peeve).
This is not a horrible movie. It's a 2 star movie. Kids can watch it and be mildly amused, so can adults. But overall it was a big disappointment to me given what I thought it would and could be.

It was good

It is a good family friendly flick, and one wouldn't have to hesitate to let their kids see it. Kids would find it pretty funny and my kids were laughing through the whole thing. I enjoyed the film.....it was cute and somewhat funny. I think Adam Sandler was alright, and he was his usual self but with family friendly humor. I didn't think Kerri Russell was all that great in this flick, and Courtney Cox, I think, was channeling a little bit of Monica from Friends in this film, but it worked. But my favorite character in the film? Bugsy. That big eyed family pet was hilarious!
If you're looking for a family friendly film this is definitely one!

Bedtime Stories - DVD

Bought this DVD for my granddaughter and she loved it. I watched it with her and thought it was a cute story. Would buy it for a child another time as a gift. My granddaughter is 8 yers old.

Great movie but cannot get it to play in my blu ray player though.

I own a Philips BDP 7200Philips Blu-ray Disc Player, BDP7200/37 and out of the 20 titles I own Bedtime stories does not work in this Blu Ray player. The firmware is up to date on the player and I notified Philips. Other than that this Disney movie is quite good and great for all family. Adam Sandler does well in his role and it's good to have imagination as many movies simply don't have enough of these days. For now I'll just have to enjpy the DVD disc of the movie until Philips can get an update to fix this bug. It'll play the previewa only and when it tries to load the main feature it loops the previews over again. I tried another copy from Best Buy and it does the same thing so it's my player.

Its is a Fun movie for Adult and Childrens .
A tale about a man who makes up bedtime stories for his niece and nephew only to find that they magically come true the next day, Bedtime Stories is a funny and enjoyable film about finding happiness in unexpected places
there are some scenes which are not kid friendly.
Overall a Good Movie to watch
