Plot: An old-fashioned cop emerges to foil a high-tech attack on the country's computer infrastructure as Bruce Willis brings back one of the biggest action franchises in screen history. It's been over a decade since audiences last saw New York cop John McClane (Willis), but now, as the world's greatest criminal mastermind (Timothy Olyphant) attempts to cripple the entire country with an innovative act of technological terrorism, only one cop can insure that the integrity of the system stays intact. In this, the fourth installment of the long-running action series, Underworld director Len Wiseman picks up the torch formerly carried by directors John McTiernan and Renny Harlin to helm a script penned by Mark Bomback. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Gives the series a modern facelift!

Probably the most rereplayable of the Die Hards, the latest effort in the long running series delivers on exactly what everyone expects: A typical guy movie that contains lots of explosions, lots of action, and a certain trademarked cowboy euphamism. I wouldn't necessarily consider this the best Die Hard movie (Die Hard 3 clearly takes that title) but Live Free Die Hard delivers a modern twist that allows plot lines to become more... explosive and believable. Granted believability really isn't the goal in a Die Hard movie. There is certainly ample occurances where you will have to be quite forgiving in how the movie bends the laws of physics. However, it brings about a decent (and most applicable) plot line, decent acting and lots, and lots of amazing action sequences that leaves you pining for the next step up in your surround system, and only hoping that you can fly a car into a helicopter, and destroy a plane with your bare hands when you are passing into your 50's.

That wasn't his best one

I really love Bruce Willis and his great action movies such as Last Man Standing. However, I did not like this one because his qoutes were bad, the action just way to explosive, and the story not very challenging. For someone who likes to see exploding buildings and helicopters this movie might be the right one but for someone who wants to see the typical Bruce Willis sense of humor this is not the right choice. Sorry Bruce but your other movies were much more better.

Maybe The Best of the Series
Added 9/14/2009

It would really be tough to top the previous movies in this series, but LFODH may have done it.

This one involves a group of cyber terrorists who inflict widespread chaos on the nation in numerous ways. The mayhem unleashed is mindboggling.

In this installment, John McClane (Bruce Willis) teams up with young hacker Matt Farrell (Justin Long) to try to stop the widespread damage being inflicted by Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant) and his group of evil computer gurus. Gabriel and his band are great villains and McClane is his usual top notch self in fighting the bad guys.

Action fans will love this one. Although the action is completely farfetched at times, it is still a fun time. It may be necessary to suspend one's sense of reality for this show, but it is worth it. This is really a great show.
