A rollicking R&B set
Added 10/18/2002

This is an excellent R&B concert featuring Bill with a killer band including Albert Lee on guitar and Gary Booker on keyboards doing most vocals with 2 backup girls, Beverly Skeete and Janice Hoyte who deserve to be better known. The 12 songs include "Let the goodtimes roll", "Melody" (for Stones fans), "I put a spell on you", "Baby Workout", "Mystery Train" (for Elvis fans) and "Groovin'". The sound is excellent. Bill, we miss you at Stones concerts but you've built another terrific band.

Great Great DVD for Old Rockers
Added 10/21/2009

I agree 100% with Mr. Connell. This is a bunch of true rockers who have a fantastic time putting on superb concerts. Bill Wyman made several comments that really hit home with me. He said that he needed to find seasoned professionals who were up in age (I guess he is in his 60s and that's the age group he's talking about) because otherwise he has to spend so much time teaching that its not worth it. He also said that its really hard to get guitar players who can keep pace with Albert Lee and that makes a lot of sense after you hear him. This is true of all the musicians. They are all great in their own right. He also said that the bands chemistry was excellent which again is apparant on the stage. The clips of them on the road show a group of consummate professionals who have mellowed and aged like fine wine. They get along like a healthy family which is the word Bill used twice...family. He said he didn't have time for interpersonal problems as working as a traveling band is demanding work. He said that some of the band members could work for more money but they just like working with this bunch of people.

I noticed that there are not too many copies of this left on Amazon and I would get one before its too late if you love older rock and roll and music that has roots in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. I can't get enough of this joyful band of players who look like they should have retired years ago...I say this with the greatest respect and admiration...thank goodness they haven't retired.

Great view of the blues and swing that this group makes. The keyboard player is crazy!

Two Hours Of Feel-Good Old Time Rock 'N Roll
Added 10/26/2008

I don't know how I found out about this DVD, but I'm sure glad I did. I've owned the disc for a week and played it three times already. Since it's two hours long, that pretty much tells you how much I enjoy this.

If you like to "boogie" with toe-tapping, feel-good oldies - and what true rock 'n roller doesn't? - this is a great find. It's cheap here, too, at Amazon - an incredible bargain.

Bill Wyman, the long-time (30 years) bassist for the Rolling Stones, formed his own group - a bunch of great musicians and singers - who just like to have fun and a have a great time performing rock songs of the past, along with a few jazz, soul and other genres.

The "guitarists' guitarist," Albert Lee, joins Wyman along with the great singer/keyboardist Georgie Fame, two lively sax players, a Nina Simone-type singer, a drummer, another guitarist and a guy named Mike Sanchez who is one of the best entertainers I've ever seen.

I can't stop smiling every time I play this DVD.

Terrific - Terrific - Terrific!

Every performance a standout! Keyboard and vocalist Mike Sanchez steals the show!

But, hey, Bill Wyman, please lose the cigarette during your playing. Kinda takes everything down a notch, from an otherwise great performance. Plus, we want you (and your band mates) to stick around many more years to make great music.
