Yet another extremely mediocre attempt at film making. Both Imelda Staunton and Jane Horricks should have run for the hills when they were presented this appalling, unbelievable script. A very predictable waste of time. If you want to see Jane Horricks do something impressive buy "Little Voice"

A quirky murder-comedy in the best English tradition
Added 11/6/2007
In classically understated English style, Direcotr Mandie Fletcher brings out one of those quirky, intensely black and morbidly funny films that delight audiences. In DEADLY ADVICE, Jane Horrocks is one of two lower middle class sisters busy having their lives spoiled by a harridan of a mother.
What to do? Hmm, get advice from the ghost of the small town's most notorious murderer and bump the old bat off, of course! Ah, but such complications from the accomplices, possible witnesses and an eminently old and dull finacee (understated with brilliance by Johnathan Pryce).
Fortunetly, there are ghosts of some other notorious killers around to give yet more deadly advice.
Can Jack the Ripper keep the murderous but somehow likeable Jane out of the clink? You'll just have to buy this and watch it to find out. You'll probably die laughing if Jane's ghosts don't help her knock you off, too!

Hilarious, very black comedy
Added 5/28/2002
Jane Horrocks (Bubble, from Ab Fab) stars as the most unlikely killer. She is the daughter of a very domineering mother, who gets very expert advice in removing undesireables from some of history's greatest murderers and serial killers, including Jack the Ripper, a very bland little man who "was the only one who never got caught". Her mother is the first to go, followed quickly by her sister and the erotic dancer boyfriend. Jonathan Price also stars, as Horrock's devoted fiancee.

black humor

This is a funny, quirky, black little movie. Jane H. is wonderful. She is sweet, innocent and evil at the same time. If you like dark humor this is a real find.
