Decent party game with subpar controls
Added 11/14/2009
I have been playing monkey ball games for a while. I was very excited to get the Wii version because of the new gameplay style thanks to the Wii motion controls. The Wii controller is great for the regular monkey ball. It makes the game alot more exciting and fun to play because you have to move your Wii remote in the direction you want the monkey ball to roll. I give this part of the game 4 stars. Now on, to the mini-games. Some are ok but alot are virtually unplayable due to the terrible Wii controller. Theres 50 to choose from so you will find a bunch to keep you entertained for a while, as long as the controls don't force you to stop playing. Although there are 50 games, thats being a little generous because a handful of them are hardly games at all. One of them is where you have a jump over a jump rope til someone gets out. This is probably the worst one there is. The game lasts about 20 seconds and its not even enjoyable while playing. In summation, this game is good for the monkey ball story mode but the mini games suck. Get a better party game like Mario Party or Wii resort if you want the mini game aspect.

HORRIBLE
Added 10/11/2009
Only a handful of the mini-games are decent, and the rest are impossible to control, or plain boring. A jump-frog game has so bad controls, you either go all the way left, or all the way right. The main game is fun, but a bit repetitive. Overall, this is a very bad game. Sega should have spent more time on it, considering its price.

This game will drive you bananas for Super Monkey Ball.
Added 10/4/2009
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, to me the title says it all, you'll have a blast with this game should you choose to endeavor in it. There are some flaws that one should be aware of, but we'll get to that at a later point in this review. I will start off with a brief summary, this game rocks, plain and simple, and was easily the best Wii title at launch. It has a decent single player campaign, and if that wasn't enough, there are also 50 mini games you can play with friends and family as well.
The gameplay in the single player campaign seems simple enough, get the monkey in the marble from point A to point B whilst avoiding any obstacles along the way, seems simple enough right? WRONG! The game starts off easy at first, but the difficulty begins to ramp up the further you get in, as the mazes get longer and more complex.
New to this edition of Super Monkey Ball are bosses that you actually have to fight, well, more like figure out their weak point and figure out how to strike it. But still, the boss battles are fun, though frustrating at times. And trust me, this game in general will have you cursing and throwing your controller in frustration, but at the same time, sighing in relief when you get past a difficult maze in the game. .
The graphics, ho ho, this is one of the highlights of this game, bright, colourful, very cutesy, but at the same time downright gorgeous. Still one of the better looking Wii games out there, and this is a stinkin' launch title. Plenty of nice effects going on throughout, and it's very easy on the eyes as well. Trust me, this game delivers in spades when it comes to the graphics.
The soundtrack is also fantastic, I wish I could find the guy who composed the music, because this is easily the highest highlight of the game. The music is very, very toe-tapping, and definitely worth the price of admission, especially when you get to one set of levels called Smooth Sherbet, trust me, you'll want to find that song soon after listening to it. The music is just that damn good in this game, trust me.
There are some flaws that keep this game from getting a perfect 5 on the stars rating though, for one, at times during gameplay, the Wii Remote will go off kilter and you'll have to recalibrate it again. This is especially prominant during mini-games in particular. While there might be 50 of said mini-games, not all of them are worth playing. Some of them control so badly that you wonder why they were not tested further before the game launched. The only other flaw, if one could call it that, is that at times the game is quite daunting during the single player campaign, that some might consider it to be too hard for their kids. Heck, I'm having a difficult time with it, and I've been gaming for years. Still, I love me a good challenge, and this game delivers in spades.
What else can I say though? This game is fantastic, definitely worth getting, and now that it's a cool [...], who wouldn't want to seize the day and grab what I still consider to be one of the Wii's best titles? Seriously, don't hesitate, buy this game, you won't be disappointed.

The Worst game on Wii
Added 8/9/2009
This is the worst game on Wii that I have played. The controls are awful, this is almost as bad Super Monkey Ball Adventure, and both of those games ruined the great and addictive games of Monkey Ball 1 & 2. It's become clear to me that this series may never be great again. I don't know whether I'll buy the next Monkey Ball game that comes out. Don't buy or even rent this piece of crap, though.

Great product for a great price!
Added 7/24/2009
Wow, I can't believe there's so much in this game for only a small price! I mean I got Wii Play for about the same price and this beats it with 50 great and fun minigames for the family and also the main game which is very addicting for me and my 6 year old sister! It has great colorful graphics which makes you feel more into the game. It has lots of stuff which is great for multiplayer purposes! This game is so worth the low price! The games are so interactive and these are my top games.
1. Monkey Wars - This is a great first-person shooter game and is really fun and addicting trying to shoot the different people and get cool weapons and stuff and is very colorful with 3 great platforms :)
2. Monkey Race - Similar to Mario Kart with the same concept and has 6 great courses and is very fun.
3. Disk Golf - Throwing a frisbee like you're actually doing it, and trying to hit a target... challenging but fun :)
4. Monkey Snowboarding - I don't know why I like this game but it's kool and you snowboard with your Wii Remote with 3 different levels of snowboarding.
5. Hammer Throw - In this game you twirl the Wii Remote and throw the hammer as far as you can... very fun with people :)
6. Space Monkey Attack - Shooting arcade-style game, great for little boys and is very simple. Anyone could play!
7. Racing Birds - This game is hilarious! Flapping your wii remote like wings... haha gotta love it! It is fun, especially with friends yet challenging!
It really is a great game for you collection :)
