Plot: Before joining Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell and her fairy brethren were busy creating their own special magic in Pixie Hollow, where they go about the business of bringing rainbows to the sky, color to the flowers, and adding their fairy signature to other miracles of nature. Each fairy is gifted with a unique magical talent to contribute, but Tinker Bell (voiced by Mae Whitman) can't help but feel her talent (tinkering) isn't as good as those of her fairy companions, and tries her best to change it. It takes a disaster and a lot of help from her friends to realize the magic of being true to oneself. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide

Great show for the wife and the kids.

The kids love it and the wife too. Good for just about any kid. As a father, it makes a wonderful distraction for about an hour and a half (for the kids).

Tinker Bell

We are waiting to give this movie for Christmas, so we haven't watched it. However, after inspecting it the dvd as well as the case are both in excellent condition. We did wait about 2 weeks from the time we ordered the movie until we received it. Not sure why it took so long.

best female protagonist in a Disney feature...ever!
Added 11/3/2009

I never gave much thought to the female protagonists in Disney animated movies until I had children. Since then, it's hard to believe it took THIS LONG for Disney to develop a strong, admirable female lead for their animation franchise. When our family first watched this film, I thought it was a little cheesy, but, by the second viewing, really loved the film. The writers don't dumb things down for their audience, which I appreciate (my girls know what "elucidate" means because of this movie!) and the overall theme is really wonderful for girls of any age, but especially preschoolers. Tinker Bell is hardworking, creative, strong-willed, and a true inventor. There's a brief lovey moment with a boy fairy, Terrance, but this is a girl-centric Disney movie with NO ROMANCE! It is fantastic! There's no prince to rescue her, no damsel-in-distress scenario here -- Tinker Bell can figure things out for herself, and, happily, does.

A Fantastic Movie
Added 11/2/2009

his was a wonderful movie! I think it was as good as anything Disney has done in last 15 years. What really set this apart from most of the DVD fare is the incredible score, with music from Loreena McKennit! I could really relate to Tink's desire to find who she is and why. I looked everywhere for MY Talent, and it's taken a long time for me to really be happy with myself just the way I am. That's one of the most important and easily forgotten things you can learn in your life, and I'm glad to see that in any movie... Just enjoy it for what it is, and believe again.

I really LOVE this movie! The animation and beautiful artwork is truly spectacular and the story is just SO SWEET! I got it for my granddaughters and I love it just as much as they do - we watch it over and over and over!

Better than the 1st, great new character
Added 11/25/2009

First- to all the reviewers who are complaining that Tinkerbell was portrayed as a rude character who gets her way, you obviously did not watch the movie- when she was quick to anger - everything went wrong and she lost everything, then she apologized and changed her ways and things started looking up again. The movie ends with the song 'The Gift of a Friend' - this movie is about appreciating your friends.

Back to the movie, beautiful animation, great new comedic character 'Blaze' the glowbug who acts as Tink's sidekick, this character does not speak and still was amusing!

Great/cute movie, the little ones will love it and the fans of Tink will too!

A pleasant surprise.

My daughter and I are big fans of Tinker Bell, the first movie that came out. We enjoyed the story, the animation, and found it very funny. Even now my daughter still laughs despite having watched it so many times. I read the reviews for the Lost Treasure and decided to take a chance on it. Like many 5-star reviewers, we enjoyed the story of Tinker Bell's lesson that friendship is the "lost" treasure and the bigger role of Terrance in the movie. It was very funny, maybe a little more than the first Tinker Bell (for us), and it had the same great animation. With the exception of America Ferrera, the Lost Treasure also had the same great voices. If you and the kids enjoyed the first one, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't like the Lost Treasure. Just keep in mind that her friends Silvermist, Rosetta, Fawn, and Iridessa have small parts this time around. The ending was pretty spectacular by the way!
