IT'S BETTER!

I read sooooooo many reviews on this before I bought it. My GOD, why so technical? I read about pixilation, speaker placement, how one scene looked better during 1:23.4 thru 1:24.7, blah, blah, blah. All I wanted to know was: DOES IT LOOK MUCH BETTER THAN THE STANDARD DVD? I had to REALLY dig to find that and when I did, I had to have the description deciphered.
For those of you that just want to know if it's worth the money, here you go: YES, IT MOST CERTAINLY IS!!
1. Is the picture much better? If you have a good viewing source and good components, yes. Having said that, it's not the difference between color and B/W, but it IS better.
2. How about the sound? YES! The sound is MUCH better. You'll notice it during the credits if you have SOME semblance of a HT system. If you have a $150 flea market special with speakers the size of a deck of cards and a sub the size of a softball.........probably not.
It was worth every penny even at retail. I paid far less for a copy that didn't look like it had been played.

The Matrix Collection

Cmon its the Matrix go get it, the whole flick's transfer was superb (video and audio). MUST OWN.

Great set - could include more extras

Quality of audio and video is flawless, and the set is presented well. I like the slim cases, but the cover designs could have been styled a little more consistently to make it feel more like a set. The extra features are not really inspired. Most are content you could get from other sources, e.g. the web. Two commentaries per disc, one a critical reviewer's comment and the other a philosophy analysis (which is by far the more interesting of the two). Contains all the Animatrix shorts on BD and a 2-disc DVD of extras.
Pity the really good extras are DVD quality only, but since these are mainly documentary-style content, this is not a huge disappointment. Many of these extras are right from the original DVD special features, so if you own the originals, this will not be a reason to buy. Since I do not (had the VHS only), it was good to watch.
I would have liked a cast or director's commentary, and a more imaginative, carefully themed presentation to give 5 stars, but I was nonetheless, very happy with my purchase.

i am not so fanatic of the matrix but i like the good action, i won't dress as neo or believe in the underwold of morpheo but the effects and the sound really makes you get hipnotized..

Worth the wait...

Finally, one of my all time favorites on Blu-Ray.
I was a little worried that the picture wouldn't be so great as I was never impressed with the original DVD release - it always seemed a little fuzzy. Well, the Blu-Ray disk is very clear and of course the soundtrack is one of the best ever.
"The Matrix" has been on my top 10 list since first released. This disk is fantastic and definitely shows off my home theater system. When you are in the mood for a loud over the top Sci-Fi flick - look no further.

The collection is complete and sells at a great price. The three movie collection goes over well with both movie and anime lovers. This makes a wonderfully affordable Chrismas gift.

REALLY CHEAP DISC WONT WORK WITH OLD USED PLAYERS

WATCHED THESE ON 5 YEAR OLD DVD PLAYER AND AFTER 25 MIN STARTED SKIPPING LIKE CRAZY, SO, WATCHED ON 6 MONTH OLD XBOX 360 AND NO PROBLEMS AT ALL SO IT HAS TO BE THE NEWNESS OF YOUR DVD PLAYER THAT MATTERS. REALLY, 2 DOUBLE SIDED DISC WAS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT BECAUSE ITS A $10 SET OF 4 MOVIES, WHY NOT MAKE IT $15 AND INCLUDE SOME NICE DISC?
