Great fun, even 5 years on

I love TWPT2004. I still play it occasionally. I have completed the career numerous times. You can hit hole in ones and after you develop your skills can even make the green from the tee on a par 5.
Apart from the career there are also three other tournament seasons you can play from amateur through to pga tour.
It also comes with a course creator. It can take a while to make a course but you can make anything. I have made courses where the pin is at the top of a very sloping green. Its so frustrating having the ball roll back time after time, but still fun.
I can only imagine that the newer versions are even better

Best Golf game for PC

I guess nobody will see this, seeing how old this game is, but you can pick it up as an 'EA Classic' for 10 bucks or less... I would advise any golf fan to do so. The subsequent editions of the game '05,'06,'07 have got progressively worse in different respects, this game is the pinnacle of the TW series.
The only tiny flaws in my opinion are that the Caddy Book hole guides don't play and that the computer players will never putt from the fringe or get their chips reasonably close, but these are pretty irrelevant when you consider the quality of the Graphics, ball physics and general gameplay in this package.

You'll be dissapointed

There's no doubt that it's better from the past versions. Custom Player,Overhead Fairway view,Clothings etc.However I was so dissapointed to find out that theres a "bug" that causes your computer to crash as you make your way past the Amatuer Level, It will frequently stop and crash.This software somehow affects your video card to stall and crash. Go to ATI's web site and you'll find some listed games that has the same problem with no solution.I'm also surprise that no other reviews mentioned anything about this problem

Excellent - Too bad I don't play like this in real life!

TWG 2004 is challenging, but not to the extent that it is too difficult. Highly recommended.
