Very good

Very good game, love the card and speed and everything. But gets boring after you completed everything.

Very fun racing game...
Added 11/10/2009

This is a very addictive racing game. If you want a very realistic driving simulation this may not be for you. The fraction of a second inattention resulting in a high speed crash while you're looking at a map or something IS very realistic. Just as in real-life your results in a high speed race are going to be much better if you are intimately familiar with the roads you're travelling. Unlike most racing games, in this one you have to pick your own route from the start point to the ending point. At times this left me hopelessly headed down a street that did not connect well with my ultimate destination. There is an automatic "suggested" route navigator but I often found "easier" / faster way to get there by studying the map and deciding the route on my own. I like the way you can start a race from almost any intersection in the expansive map. (What I did not like is that even though all the races end at one of 8 locations I had trouble finding these on the map when not actually involved in a race.) Getting familiar with basic routes across town is bound to pay off.. (Attempting to set time records while traversing these makes becoming familiar with the roads, streets, and freeways more entertaining.) I kind of like being able to "fix" any car just by driving through a repair shop without having to worry about running out of money or building up enough to improve your ride.
One of my favorite aspects of this game is being able to tap into my own music library for the music while playing the game and having it integrated with the car "radio." Pretty cool. So far one the most enjoyable and addictive games I've tried on the PS3.

Not as expected
Added 11/8/2009

Although it's still a cool game in other ways, it's not what you would expect of a "burnout" game. You're running around alone in the city and of course there are other vehicles on the road but they are not after you. You're just chasing time or unlocking hidden things... It's not what I like most bout burnout, which is the racing and beating up other cars that are trying to beat you too.

Great Game, nice Graphics but no gameplay
Added 11/5/2009

This is a great game. It has great cars, great bikes, great graphics details but ... i found it a bit boring..
First, it has no Split Screen.. suxs not being able to have a race to your brother or visit...
No missions, no goals... the freedom is really boring you have to drive to the event spot if you want to play it..
Also Bikes are a nice feature but still no fun, they got no turbo, no special tricks and they are really hard to drive cuz of the speed... you blow a candle near it and puff you crash... but it's a nice game to drive around from race to race... its a game to fool around with awesome graphics nothing more..

Love it! Love it!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this game. In fact, I even went out and dropped the additional $130 or so for the driving force wheel with pedals. I have a couple guys who'll come over for 'game night' now and then. I love having a few beers and flying around the city. The many cars to unlock keep you interested and reaching for more. The online environment is awesome. The coolest is when you take another player down and his camera snaps a mugshot of him with his jaw dropped!
Love it!

Thank you so much for making such a great game with an e10+ rating. I tell everyone I know with kids and a PS3 about this game because it's all the fun and cool without the images that make us parents cringe. We love Ratchet and Clank! Do you know how hard it is to find a PS3 game suitable for a 7, 8 and now 9 year old with his 5 year old sister (she was 3 when we got this) inevitably watching sometimes? We play almost all PS2 games on the PS3 (like the sly racoon series) for this reason. This reminds me of those games somehow. Keep making them at the e10+ level!

BTW, my son got this two years ago when he was 7 (by no means a gaming prodigy) and I have never seen him frustrated with it- not once. And he does get frustrated with other games. It's visually beautiful, the music is great and its even funny at times! Some games I can't even stand listening to, but this one I will actually sit down and watch! The theme is "Save the world..cosmic mission" type stuff and we love it! Don't let the "tools of destruction" title throw you, it is really a lot of fun.

Can't wait to play Crack in Time!

Fun and Gun!
Added 11/2/2009

This is our first foray into the PS3 and the world of Ratchet and Clank. What a great fun way to kick off the HD gaming experience. Fun plot and writing, fantastic visuals and weaponry. It's a game for a 7 yr to enjoy at just the right difficulty levels. For an old guy like me, I just enjoyed the PS3 for the first time despite it being a tiny bit easy. It was just fun to play in their world for a bit and to watch the kid blast his way through it and figuring out the puzzles. We look forward to the next installment. And i look forward to a bit more challenging, mature titles that the PS3 has to offer.
