Plot: After his 13-year-old sister is abducted by sex traffickers, a determined Mexican teen travels from the barrios of Mexico City to a run-down stash house in New Jersey in a desperate attempt to rescue the frightened girl before she is swallowed whole by one of the criminal underworld's darkest secrets. Jorge's (Cesar Ramos) adolescent sister, Adriana (Paulina Gaitan), has been kidnapped and thrust into a lucrative underground trade in which young girls are bought and sold to the highest bidder. Now, as the terrified youngster is herded through a complex network of underground tunnels leading into the United States, her only ally is a Polish woman named Veronica (Alicja Bachleda), who has been tricked into the trade by the same nefarious gang. After circumventing immigration officers and eventually working his way across the border, the desperate Jorge comes into contact with a Texas lawman named Ray (Kevin Kline), whose own devastating personal loss to sex traffickers causes him to join the search for Adriana. In the dark days that follow, Jorge and Ray form a close bond as they witness the horrors of a secret Internet sex slave auction and discover just how far the depths of human depravity can plunge while attempting to maintain hope that brother and sister will one day be reunited. In the world of international sex trafficking, however, innocent victims disappear without a trace every day and few who fall prey to these reprehensible predators are ever seen again. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

I first saw this film at the international film festival in Santa Barbara and was deeply moved by the impact it had on me. Definitely a must-see!

The critics are dead wrong

'Trade' is a deeply disturbing film that is very well done. The actors are all very believable in what are really difficult roles. Not easy to watch, but really gives you a feel for the creeps that inhabit this sick trade in human beings. Kate del Castillo plays one evil b---- to perfection.

Powerful. Very Real. Unfortunately, it happens every day.

Trade is a wonderful and powerful story about the cross-border kidnapping of poor children for the purposes of being sold in contemporary slave auctions within the United States. Unfortunately, this DOES happen with much too much frequency. The GOD'S CHILD Project's "Institute for Trafficked, Exploited & Missing Persons" works hard to educate the public about this, both to stop the children and young adults from being victimized, as well as to encourage people who suspect that this social ill is occurring, and this movie, Trade, is going to help a lot more to learn about the problem. The key point is, if you suspect this happening, please report it today.

This Film Shows why humans are inhumane to each other!

I was in Mexico for the first time over 20 years ago. While driving a Jeep we came upon a man with a rifle and a gate that read "detour". As we drove over the mountain road we were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint. That is the Mexican mentality. Why work for money when you can just rob someone who has. Needless to say I have never been back. I was given this movie and was disturbed beyond belief at how inhumane we can be to each other when sex and money are involved. I LOVE horror films with special effects..they are fun! The real horror of this film or should I say terror...is that it is REAL and happening every minute of every day. It is called supply and demand. If there was no demand these little children would not be raped, sodomized and brutally beaten for the "kicks" of perverts. The sad thing is...those perverts are our husbands, boyfriends, teachers, law enforcement..the very people who are supposed to protect us. The reason is because most men are animals who will stop at nothing to satisfy that "urge". Be it little children, non consenual sex ( Rape ) even sheep aren't safe from most men. There are a few of us like myself who are decent men and only sleep with each other as long as we are consenting adults. This movie made me sick to my stomach but it is a must see for all those "Peppermint Patty" housewives in the suburbs who live in Stepford Wives World. Where was YOUR husband last weekend? A little Business trip to Mexico or was it Thailand?
