Best Dabney Coleman Flick.

Laugh...Try not to when you watch this movie. The story plot begins with a twist and a mistake...and this is where the fun also begins. So, try not to laugh.
There is also something to learn that we can take in to our own lives.
So, sit back and laugh and think how your life would be chaged if you were in the actor "Dabney Colemans" place and what you would do if you were faced with the same thing as he was.
I think our country would be a better place to live and we all would be happier and more appreciative of each other.

I like watching some of these older films for bits and pieces of how life was viewed when it came out. The video was entertaining.

I had never heard of this movie before it was released on VHS. I have no idea why it is so hard to find. This is the only DVD release I have ever found that is playable in the US.
Don't be afraid! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE MOVIE, WITHOUT ANY ALTERATIONS! IT IS PLAYABLE ON ANY STANDARD US DVD PLAYER! It is simply labled for sale in Korea.
This may be Dabney Coleman's best movie ever. Coleman plays Bert Simpson, a cop who's days from retirement and has just been told he's terminally ill. So now he's desperate to die in the line of duty so his family can have the insurance money. Matt Frewer does a great supporting role as Ernie(Bert and Ernie - hah!)the bewildered side-kick who's just as desperate to find out why his straight-laced, take-no-chances partner has gone on a suicidal rampage.
Bert also manages to rediscover why life is worth living, reinventing himself as a husband, father and friend along the way. This movie may not be considered one of Hollywood's shining moments, but it is definitely very good entertainment.

Very Underappreciated Movie

I saw this back when it came out. It was part of a Double Feature, and I thought that I wouldn't enjoy it. I wasn't a Dabney Coleman fan, and thought to myself that I could sit through an hour and a half of "whatever." My perception about this movie was TOTALLY WRONG!
I loved it, and every time it comes on HBO or cable, I watch it. Dabney Coleman portrays a "short-timer" brilliantly and I became a fan of his after this movie. It is extremely funny and goes to show you that life is short, even though his really wasn't as short as he thought. It also went on showing me that don't judge a movie by who is in it.
Great Movie! Hurry and release it on DVD.
