too much of the "F" word
Added 6/22/2009
I consider myself a good democrat and was not aware of this video until I had the opportunity to see Mr Maher's video about religion. I ordered it and had difficulty watching it mainly because of the "f" word being inserted too often .

Get Ready for Maher Mayhem
Added 3/10/2009
In "The Decider" Bill Maher is very funny and biting in this stand-up assault and skewering of then-President Bush. He knows his facts and marshals them against Republicans, organized religions, drug companies, and Bush 43. (It anticipates his recent movie release "Religulous.") It's a series of hard-hitting, obscene, and rapid fire jokes.
President Clinton comes off fairly well, although I've always thought he would make a perfect target for an all-out assault. If you're a right wing zealot, you'd better avoid this full frontal attack. Maher extols the virtues of condoms. If you're going to attack the right wingers, you might as well hit all the bases.
Surprisingly there is not too much about Vice-president Cheney except his poor aim when hunting. If you're a Bush-basher, a true Democrat, a libertarian, or an agnostic, you'll probably love this. I found it profanely and profoundly hilarious. Political satire has been a rare breed in recent years, and we need more of it to keep us honest and alert.

Maher Falls Short

Disappointment for sure. He can do so much better. Look for other titles and you will be far more entertained.

I loved this in theaters and I'm glad to finally have my own copy.

For anyone who watches Real Time and/or his standup, this is a real treat. A lot of moments are very funny to the point that it's surreal, and others force you to come to terms with the reality that there are some very religious people in this world (a fact I conveniently choose to ignore most of the time). I liked it a lot.
While I imagine that some people are as offended by Religulous as I am by Ben Stein's EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed, the film feels very natural to me. He seems to just prompt people and let their answers speak for themselves half the time.
Some of my favorite moments (as a Bill Maher fan) were getting to hear about his upbringing, with one Jewish parent and one Catholic. As someone who was never introduced to religion by parents or anyone else a child, I've always been interested in the stories of people who tried it first before turning to atheism (or agnosticism). Really, his point on this matter isn't offensive. He simply chooses to say, "I don't know" and points out how imprudent it is that other people choose to construct answers for things they consider unknown.
If you're open-minded and want to watch something interesting, try this. If you're close-minded and want to be very angry over a piece of entertainment, try it also.

A must movie to be broadcast on all main TV channels
Added 11/16/2009
This is a movie which could save our planet. Considering that a lot of people will not make the effort to read related books such as "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins, "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris, or "god is not Great" by Christopher Hitchens, this documentary can be watched as a highly entertaining movie and, indirectly, it can open the eyes of a lot people who think they know all the answers or are afraid to face the truth. It should be dubbed in as many languages as possible (I would recommend even in Yiddish) and it should be broadcast on every main channel around the world. I hope somebody will have the guts to do it. Anyway, thanks, Bill! You're great!

If you like Bill Maher's take on world issues and his somewhat dry sense of humor, get this movie. Although he has become a Far Left individual with strong opinions on Bush, Palin and Health Care, I still find his delivery of his material hilarious.
