COOL but not action-packed as Iron Eagle!!!
Added 8/10/2009
Like many of you, I thought that this movie was gonna be the next Iron Eagle, a HI SPEED C.G. JET WAR with LOT'S of shooting and explotions, but NOOOOOO!!!!
STEALTH is action-packed but not excactly as you think, The action scenes were EXPLOSIVE, FAST and COOL but very short (like 3 or MAYBE 4 minutes long) and just when you think that the action is gonna get better it get's interrupted by blah, blah, blah!, there are not much enemy jets to shoot at (it's more like jet chase), The story is VERY stupid and cheese, the acting wasn't good, and the C.G. special effects were cool but NOT first class.
If you like "fast jet action!" then maybe this movie is for you, but if you like HI QUALITY EXPLOSIVE SHOOTING SPREE VEHICLE ACTION like Iron Eagle, The Losers or Death Race then search somewere else.
Adios.

Only Reason to watch is Jessica Biel
Added 5/17/2009
I cannot describe this movie with out getting into profanity so I will just be general.
Jessica Biel is the only redeeeming quality about this film.
1st the government only built 3 of these super planes. I call BULL$&!*. Anyone who has dealt with the Government PRocurement process will agree with me.
2nd, I could have suspended disbelief until the whole floating unmanned gas stations. Seriously. Utter Garbage.
3rd, the whole Frankenstein's monster crossed with Short Circuit's Johnny 5 with a redemption motif smacks of numerous rewrites or network "notes" being done during filming.
As I said at the beginning, Jessica Beil is the only part of this worth seeing.

CGI and other effects are great - the rest of it is ludicrous
Added 3/22/2009
"Stealth" is at least two movies in one. The first movie is awful. Stereotyped cardboard cutout characters, a silly plot cobbled together from several past hits like "2001", unconvincing acting and a total disregard for the potential audience's intelligence (i.e., attack three soverign nations in one day without any repercussions).
The second movie, however, is a gem. It involves lots of CGI and other special effects. The human actors are mere (and very forgettable) props. The real players are the airplanes: "Talon" fighter bombers and a "ultra-high-tech UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle) nicknamed "EDI". The Talons are dispersed as a single three plane group supposedly piloted by the three "best" pilots in the U. S. Navy (Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel and Jamie Foxx). Under the command of a megalomaniac commander with little regard for the law (Sam Shepard), these three are sent blazing across the world to take out various and sundry threats to humanity. In a single day, they commit acts of war on three nations.
The CGI and other special effects are gorgeous. The Talons and EDI are meticulously rendered. though it is doubtful any aircraft so designed could fly. The combat scenes are glorious - and funnier than heck. Here we have these technological marvels flying at almost ground level to take out targets? It makes no sense. Nor does an air-to-ground missile capable of destroying everything in a straight line for a thousand or more feet seem feasible. It looks like the producers were inspired by the napalm strike footage in "Apocalypse Now".
The EDI is struck by lightning and its circuitry scrambled. Amazing how many aircraft are routinely struck by lightning without ill-effect, but this supposedly super-advanced example of artificial intelligence is.
Sorry, I keep wandering off into the non-existent plot.
Anyway, lots of great flight scenes, even if they are utterly unrealistic, lots of terrific explosions, lots of booms, crashes and other loud noises. Lots of cool special effects and some great CGI. A laughable plot, pathetic acting, no story to speak of - but great aviation effects.
