Plot: This action drama is set in an affluent, conservative neighborhood seeking protection for its high school students. A company known as The Sentinels is hired to guarantee security at the school. However, the men in this company are more Nazi than Himmler, and they are soon bullying and abusing the students they were supposed to protect. After the editor of the school paper gets involved in resolving this bad situation, he enlists the help of the former girlfriend of Sentinels leader. The two eventually begin to figure out what needs to be done. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

man I want this on DVD

Look, I'm not going to write here and tell you how this was a great movie, even though I gave it five stars myself. You'll probably only like this movie if you saw it when it came out. Maybe you were 13 or 14, didn't drive yet. Walked to the local video store and rented this movie for $2. Repeatedly. Watched it. Repeatedly. Its a story about aggressive, popular kids getting rid of the high school "losers" in the most over the top way possible. Extreme karate kid. The worst teacher in school is in on it. Will the geeks and the punks overcome? Will the nerdy smart kid get the hot girl? Will he be tempted by the cool kids or stand up for his loser friends? Come on. You know what's going to happen. The whole movie is high school freshman loser fantasy.

And for providing that, I give you five stars.

Better than average soundtrack as I remember. Although kind of a weird mix of TSOL and Robert Palmer if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, good fun. Somebody should put this out on DVD please.

Cult Classic Possibly...

but you'll have to see for yourself. However, if you don't find this movie at all interesting it's certainly not for a lack of ambience, the cinematography is as gorgeous as any I've ever seen. For fans of the 80's direct to video market.

Cannon Group SUCKS!!!
Added 2/20/2004

John Stockwell, a terrible actor with forgettable moments in movies like Losin' It and Christine were god awful. No wonder why this production company went under. Thank god that the like the passing of the 80's, so has the Cannon Group that makes such horrible films, with the exception of the cheesy Ninja Movies. Don't waste your money on this video, it will show sometime on HBO at 3:30 am when your when can't sleep, and trust me, this will have you sleeping in time. The movie is obviously a cheap rip off of the Keanu Reeves made for t.v. movie "Brotherhood of Justice," which is made a little better with the likes of Keither Sutherland.

Actually bad, but cultic and unbelievably entertaining!

For me DANGEROUSLY CLOSE is one of those films, which are absolutely underrated!
AVENGING FORCE, AMERICAN NINJA, AMERICAN GOTHIC... al those films are of the same class and contain some very cultic elements which make these films very worthy!

Relative 4 stars!
