Plot: Director Tobe Hooper adapts Colin Wilson's edgy novel {-The Space Vampires} in this in this horror/sci-fi epic with a cult following. The story concerns a joint British-American space probe of Hailey's Comet. Inside the comet, the astronauts, headed by Carlsen (Steve Railsback), find a spaceship that contains the dead bodies of several aliens, along with the naked bodies of three human-like creatures in suspended animation. They bring the aliens aboard the ship for examination, but the specimens are sloppily guarded and soon the trio spread contagion among the population of the ship. Returning to earth, the beautiful space vampire (Mathilda May) escapes into London and begins to feed of the bodies of the unwary Britons, turning the city into a zombie-populated wasteland. It is now left for Carlsen to stop the vampire invaders. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

Worst movie I have ever seen

This movie has the distinction of being the ONLY film that I ever walked out on when I saw it in its theatrical release. I finally decided to watch it on DVD ... figuring it couldn't be THAT bad. It's even worse, the biggest piece of junk I have seen in 50 years of watching movies. This is EASILY the worst acting that I have ever seen, combined with horrendous writing. Railsback does everything but foam at the mouth, bulging his eyes and yelling out terrible lines of dialog. I imagine that Patrick Stewart is terribly, terribly embarrassed by his performance. The rest of the cast is almost as bad, and by the end of the movie I was just laughing at the really terrible 'zombie' makeup. Someone actually got paid to write and direct this junk? Truly and completely unbelievable that a movie this bad could be released.

Never trust the reviewers ! You've got to watch the movie for yourself. At least part of it, anyway. A number of people typed rather nice things about this flick but I feel that it came up short for me in many, many ways. It was a little too stupid for my taste even with a little bit of female-skin scattered all the way through. There were far too many professional scientists and military people doing really dumb things and getting into a world of trouble because of it. Those things happen all the time, but by today's standards this futuristic movie is way out-dated in the employee-safety department. After watching for the first 10-minutes or so I did a fast-forward search for all of the skin-scenes "once" and put the DVD back in the box it came in. There really isn't very much skin and it is well scattered. The dumb people always get eaten, though that is not exactly what was going on here. I guess we could call it a horror flick, but I wouldn't give it a lot of points for "suspense". If you haven't watched it before you don't know exactly what is going to happen and you don't know exactly when "something" is going to happen but you can sure tell "from the beginning" that "something bad is going to happen" ... it's just a matter of sitting quietly, chuckling at the naked people and waiting for somebody to die ... You don't have to wait very long ... it's usually the dumbest person in the scene. Its just one after the other. You'd think the survivors would all catch on eventually. Invite somebody over. Make popcorn. Leave the lights on.

I was after the movie LIFEFORCE which is not available in Australia so I looked to Amazon for the purchase. With quick and prompt service by them the movie was in my hands in less than a week.It was an early movie that was worth watching and adding to my collection.Considering when this movie was made it is of good quality and acting was good.

One of Tobe Hooper's great classic. This is a dark, creepy, and full of suspense movie. Space vampires take on London. Hot nude female is found, and brought back to earth. She soon awakes and spread the virus. Turning people into zombie like form. This is Tobe's sci-fi classic with a excellent storyline. My dvd didn't come with a 8 page booklet, but I'm still happy.

I was very pleased with the first rate copy of LIFEFORCE.Excellent condition. The film itself holds up remarkably well.Special effects are oustanding, story line is engaging and the casting and acting was strong.I am sure that LIFEFORCE would appeal to most any Sci-Fi devotee.Big plus is seeing Patrick Stewart in a small role
