I've actually seen worse ...
Added 10/31/2009
Made of Honor is your typical bland, predictable, thoroughly contrived romantic comedy. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is that the production values were excellent, the shots of Scotland were gorgeous, and, believe it or not, there are even worse romantic comedies out there. (Tiptoes immediately comes to mind.)
The basic problem with this film was not that it was predictable and formulaic (all romantic comedies are predictable and formulaic), but that every single person involved with this film was bored to tears. The actors were bored, the writers were bored, the producers were bored, the editors were bored, the grips were bored ... even the gofers were bored. And it showed. The jokes were lame, the chemistry non-existent, the lines well... "don't marry him", "I've always loved you", "these are glow-in-the-dark thunder beads." Need I say more?
If you are laid up with the flu and just need to kill a couple of hours, Made of Honor will probably do the trick. The good part is that you won't remember a thing afterwards.

Sweet with a Healthy Serving of Raunch
Added 10/3/2009
Very few annoyingly cheesy moments clutter this sweet story of love found right under one's nose. This is romantic comedy so I didn't expect much more than entertainment and the basic romantic comedy plot recipe. And this film delivered those.
Stereotypical bad boy Tom (Dempsey) plays the field, with rules like "no back to back encounters", and "once a week only" with a growing long list of women. Seems like he's slept with nearly all the eligible females in New York. But he has a soft spot for his best friend Hannah, and a standing weekly Sunday date, where he is able to relax the rules and truly enjoy the company of a woman who is "what you see is what you get."
Hannah leaves the country and Tom fills his Sundays with women who don't measure up to Hannah and he realizes that his feeling for Hannah have grown into something deeper. When she returns with an upcoming whirlwind wedding plan and asks Tom to be her Maid of Honor the plot thickens.
Sensitivity warnings: Plenty of raunchy comments pepper the film, a few epitaphs, a couple of awkward scenes, several half-dressed women or women spilling out of tight clothing flit across the screen. The shower entertainment ends up being a "love" toy demonstrator. So, be warned. I don't think a savvy kid could watch it without some serious parental discomfort and some splaining you might not want to do. This isn't one or two eye-covering scenes and the rest is a-okay, the adult humor or themes are pervasive. I will probably watch it again, sometimes I just am in the mood for romantic comedy, but it would be better with a bit less sex.

all in good fun

A light romantic comedy that spends time to actually work out the plot kinks and to make one guess at the ending. The chemistry between the main characters is palopable and Patrivk Demsey is simply delightful. What's more is that the film exceeds expectations and manages to be quite fun.
