Plot: Once more, a wise-guy teenager tries to prove he's smarter than any adult-and nearly destroys the whole world in the process-in WarGames. Computer-game aficionado Matthew Broderick inadverently taps into a hush-hush Pentagon computer, then proceeds to inaugurate his favorite game, Global Thermonuclear War. What we know, but Broderick doesn't, is that the Pentagon, hoping to eliminate the chancy human element in the event of an actual war, has given its computer total, irreversable control over the launching of nuclear weaponry. Broderick and government official Dabney Coleman race against time to reverse the computer's resolve to send bombers to Russia. This movie is a classic and a must have for any 80's movie buff. Matthew Broderick is brillant and the special features on the DVD are wonderful. Lots of cast interviews and behind the scenes extras.

Great movie, we love it. And since we have it on VHS and our VHS player broke we wanted to find it on DVD and when I found it at Amazon.com I had to get it.

CD arrived as promised. This movie takes you back, with all the 'high tech' references, but it still holds together after 25 years.

one of the first computer hacker movies

As unlikely as it seems a young high school computer hacker
logs into a government super computer that controls
ICBM launching across the United Stated.
The resulting trouble almost causes WWIII with Russia
when the AI in control of the super computer wants to play games.
Tron (20th Anniversary Collector's Edition)
, Sneakers (Collector's Edition) and Hackers are some of the movies Hollywood has made to exploit this gold mine of the personal computer.
