not easily broken

I loved the story line. It happens like so many times, either his mother and/or her mother, or someone else is always getting in the middle of your relationship. I really love this movie.

Great movie!
Added 9/26/2009
This movie is well done! It is not preachy, but it does deal with a lot of tough issues to include tragedy, broken relationships, faithfulness when there seems to be no reason for it, the importance of giving of yourself, and even death. The acting is good, the direction is good, the story line is excellent and not completely predictable. If you are in a tough place in life, or you know someone who is, you may find this movie to be very encouraging. Highly recommended!

A Soul-Satisfying Surprise
Added 9/5/2009
I accidently rented this movie on line. When I received it in the mail, I had to read the synopsis to see what it was about. I hadn't heard much about this movie and I assumed it was probably something like "Fireproof". I thought, "Oh Brother, not another troubled marriage flick". However, one lazy afternoon when I had better things to do, I watched it. I was surprised to find that I absolutely loved this film. I found myself totally engaged with the plot, the dialogue and with the characters. I laughed. I cried. I was even talking to the screen. I fell in love with Dave the husband (played by hunky Morris Chestnut). Though not career driven, Dave was such a good, honest, giving man that I found myself wanting to slap some sense into his wife. Clarice (played by a very talented Taraji Henson), the wife, was a corporate climbing shrew, yet she was so cute and David so obviously loved her I knew there must be something more to her than my initial introduction. The actors were great, especially Mr. Chestnut and Ms. Henson. The actress who played the mother-in-law was a stand out. She stole every scene she was in. I loved this movie because it showed a believable, flawed couple who had made mistakes in their marriage. In their lowest hour, they came to a point where they ultimately humbled themselves in prayer, learned from their mistakes and came together even stronger. There was a God theme but it was not in your face. It was very subtle and simple enough to digest. "Keep God in the center of your marriage." A message that the couple ignored until the end. I think this entertaining, first-rate film tells a story that everyone can relate to. When I finished watching I felt my spirit was lighter, more hopeful and optomistic. I plan on adding this movie to my library and I predict it will be one of my favorites.
