Plot: Several years have passed since the events of the previous film, and yet again the makers of Good Guys dolls -- a line which included the homicidal Chucky -- decide to reinstate their product line. Unfortunately, some of the materials used are still imbued with the evil spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray (voice of Brad Dourif), whose soul once inhabited the Chucky doll... and who returns to action in a spanking new Good Guy body. Determined at first to finish the job he started by swapping bodies with young Andy (Justin Whalin) -- who is now a teenager in military school -- Chucky decides to change tactics, setting his sights on a much younger boy. When Andy becomes aware of the situation, he is compelled to put a stop to Chucky's Satanic antics once and for all. The signs of a creatively-depleted horror franchise are evident (they had already shown themselves in the previous installment), but there is still enough juice left for the spooky climax, which borrows a riff from Tobe Hooper's The Funhouse. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide

Good sequel

Most reviewers seem not to have liked Childs Play 3 as much as as Childs Play 1 and 2, but I actually thought it was a pretty decent sequel. Especially considering that the writer of the movies had run out of idea's after Childs Play 2 but was pressured into making this (which was realeased only nine months later) straight away.

Childs Play 3 takes place eight years after the ending of Childs Play 2. Theres the usual chucky-doll-being-brought-to-life-again scene during the opening credits and then we see that Andy is now 16 years old an enrolled in military school. Meanwhile, The Play Pall's Toy Company decide to start making a new batch of Good Guy's (and the prototype just happens to be Chucky). After a brutal murder (his favourite type), Chucky posts himself to Andy at the military school and it's not long before the body's start piling up as he continues he quest to get revenge on Andy.

Im not sure why this movie was rated 18 as it is actually milder than the first two movies. Definatly should've just been a 15.

Childs Play is quite scary and has a few moments that make you jump. Although the story line and death scenes are not as good as other Child's Play movies, this movie does succeed in being very suspencefull and has some good one-liners from chucky. Deffinatly worth watching if you are a fan of the series.

Chucky in the Army!!!

This was another childhood favorite! I remember that I got this for a Christmas present when I was little. It's been 6 years since Chucky, and now he's been brought back to life. He finds out that Andy Barclay has been placed in Kent Military School. Colonel Shelton gives everyone a hard time, especially Andy. Andy makes new friends like Tyler, De Silva, and Whitehurst. Tyler finds Chucky and Chucky figures on trying a new kid, instead of Andy. Andy knows that Chucky's back and he wants to stop Chucky from taking over Tyler's soul. A final showdown happens at a county fair, in the haunted house ride. If you love Chucky, you'll love CHILD'S PLAY 3!!!

The weakest in the series
Added 3/26/2008

Child's Play 3 is nothing new on the Chucky franchise. Andy is a litte older now so Chucky needs to find someone new to possess. Chucky still uses one-liners and the death scenes are ok but once again the script is lame as screenwriter Don Mancini was asked to begin writing the third film even before the second film was released. Justin Whalin makes a horrible Andy and it's no secret his career went nowhere.
