Plot: Though Willow was one of director Ron Howard's few box-office disappointments, it definitely deserves a second look. At once an epic celebration and a gentle spoof of the sword-and-sorcery genre, the film concerns the efforts by little person Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) to protect a sacred infant from the machinations of a wicked queen (Jean Marsh). One source book has assessed the picture as a combination of The Ten Commandments and Snow White. This is true enough, except that neither one of those properties offered such offbeat casting choices as Billy Barty and Jean Marsh. Executive producer George Lucas has (through the conduit of screenwriter Bob Dolman) added elements of his own Star Wars saga to the stew. The results are generally satisfactory, though the film is sometimes weighed down by too much plot, and the action sequences may not be suitable for very young children. Incidentally, this is the film where co-star Val Kilmer met his future wife Joanne Whalley. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

An international order which arrived way before estimated date. Excellent condition and quality even though second hand. Very happy with it. Thank you

Willow, Fantasy film done right..

The first film I remeber Val Kilmer in and he was cast just right. A scoundrel gone right type of deal.. It works good for his style of acting.
There's something for everyone in this movie, brownies for the kids, a few good guy fights with humor, as well as some romance for the ladies..

Fascinating!

This film is enchanting. A true classic for its genre, it follows the story of a dwarf named 'Willow' after finding a baby floating down river. Each character in the story is fun to watch, the dialog is excellent and the effects are decent as well. The film is a bit goofy but the dark backdrop made it all the more interesting. From beginning to end, you'll want to stay in your seat as the comedy, drama, and action are all well worth watching. This is an older fantasy film, but definitely worth being in anyone's collection.

This one is obviously for the young. But Kilmer and Whalley both do a good job. Entertaining but not a keeper.

Magical Family Adventure
Added 7/15/2009

I have loved Willow since it first came out years ago, and have always had a copy of it in my house since it was made available on VHS way back when. I have recently purchased a DVD, since my daughter loved it as much as I did, and couldn't get enough! As far as being appropriate for family viewing, in my opinion, aside from mild adventure daring and scary evil queens, it's fine as far as language and sexual content. (There is none) Everyone in the family enjoys this movie, even my mother, who usually shys away from movies about fairys and magic. The baby is adorable, and you just fall in love with her and Willow, her ultimate savior. It's a great time you will enjoy for years to come.
