Plot: In a land where cartoon characters and flesh-and-blood people work side by side, one little black duck lands in a big pot of trouble in this comedy, which brings the beloved Looney Tunes characters into the real world. Daffy Duck (voice of Joe Alaskey) has grown tired of his status as Warner Bros.' leading avian second fiddle and demands that if he can't be given equal billing with his rival Bugs Bunny (also voiced by Alaskey), he wants to be released from his contract. Kate Houghton (Jenna Elfman), Warners' vice president in charge of comedy, is way ahead of Daffy and orders studio stuntman D.J. Drake (Brendan Fraser) to kick the duck off the studio lot. D.J. soon discovers getting rid of Daffy is no easy task, and the duck is in tow when Drake makes a startling discovery -- his father Damien Drake (Timothy Dalton), a movie star best know for playing ultra-suave secret agents, really is a secret agent, and he's been kidnapped by Mr. Chairman (Steve Martin), the evil leader of the monolithic Acme Corporation. Damien knows the secret hiding place of the priceless Blue Monkey Diamond and Mr. Chairman will stop at nothing to get it, so D.J. and Daffy set out to rescue Damien and save the diamond, one step behind Acme's musclemen and one step ahead of Kate and Bugs, who now realize how important Daffy is to the Looney Tunes franchise. Looney Tunes: Back in Action also stars Heather Locklear as a lounge singer working for Yosemite Sam (voice of Steve Babiar), Joan Cusack, John Cleese, Stan Freberg, and Roger Corman. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Loving Luney Tunes
Added 4/20/2009

I loved the Luney Tunes Back in Action video. I ordered this on a 1 day ship on a Thursday for an upcoming birthday present that was that Sunday. I was very disappointed when although I paid the extra shipping (almost as much as the DVD itself), it did not arrive until the next Monday after her birthday. I know that delivery dates are approximate but I think it would be helpful if your site let the customer know that 1 day ship does not happen if it is after 12 noon or something like that.

Bugs Bunny+Guy From Those "Mummies" Films=Interesting Movie

Hi. Um, remember in my Space Jam review when I said I'd get Looney Tunes Back in Action on DVD and then review it? Well, that's what I'm gonna do today. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm the Movie Review Kid and you're a fat idiot. This movie stars famous Looney Tune dudes(Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, e.t.c.) and live-action dudes(Brendan Fraser, Jenna Elfman, Steve Martin, e.t.c.). I think that Fraser guy starred in them Mummies movies. Anyway, this movie sets back to modern day 2003, and if you're wondering why we're in 2009 and that's in 2003, it's because the movie came out in 2003, Doof. OK, so Brendan F. plays this dude named D.J. Drake right? His dad, Damian Drake, a super spy, is captured by the evil Acme corporation. And isn't Acme supposed to be good? So whoever came up with the storyline for this film should be dragged out into the street snd shot. Anyway, Acme Corp's tryin' to find this Blue Monkey jewel thing in a plan to sell more products. It's a stupid plan but the head of the Acme Corp. is stupid too, so it balances out. So D.J. and Daffy set out to find this Blue Chimp thing (Blue Monkey, sir.). Whatever. And Bugs and this lady named Kate tag along too. Along the way they encounter Looney Toonies who are under control of Acme but Bugs and Daffy outwit them. And that's pretty much it. So you better get the heck off my dang computer before I release the hounds on you. No? Okay, then. Smithers, release the hounds. (Smithers releases hounds; hounds chase fat dude who is on my computer) Bye.

Brandon Frazer and Jenna Elfman's great onscreen chemistry and the brilliant use of the Looney Tunes characters makes this a great film for the entire family. Besides scenes with just about every Looney Tune character (including short scenes with PepeLe Pew, Beaky Buzzard and Mad Scientist) the film is packed with human stars (Steve Martin, Heather Locklear, Joan Cusack) and has several cameo appearances including Michael Jordan, Jeff Gordon and Matthew Lillard who gets a dressing down by cartoon Shaggy because he didn't like his portrayal in the human Scooby-Doo (Widescreen Edition) movie.

Although this movie came out 5 years ago, I just saw it recently for the first time and have watched it a couple more times since and I find more in it every time I view it (there are over 20 Looney Tune characters in the movie). My 5 year old daughter loves it as does my wife. As well as being loaded with stars there are parodies of scenes from classic movies such as the Psycho (Special Edition) (Universal Legacy Series) shower scene (but its OK for kids and even shows how they used Hershey's Chocolate Syrup 2 count for special effects) and 007's A View To A Kill - 2-Disc Ultimate Edition Eiffel Tower chase (heck, ex 007 Timothy Dalton is even in the film!) as well as characters from other movies and TV shows such as Robbie the Robot and monsters you'll recognize from B sci-fi flicks. Even Kevin McCarthy star of the original 1950's Invasion of the Body Snatchers has a cameo, in Black and White, carrying a POD, lol.

This is a great family movie that with lots of action and laughs. Adults will have a trip down memory lane seeing cartoon characters they have haven't seen in years.

Great animation and a real hoot for the Brendan Fraser fans - my 7year old is in LOVE! She has a number of his movies and she's watched this one more in the short 10 days she's had it than any of the others

Funny!

I've watched this three times over the past week with my daughter. We laugh harder every time. It has some of the anarchy of the old Looney Tunes shorts. At the price, you can't go wrong.
