Plot: In a weakly-limned story that starts off on one foot and then quickly jumps to another, Margot Kidder plays Margo, a stripper out looking for her long-lost father (Burt Lancaster) in a remote area of Mexico. After she arrives, Eugene (Ted Danson), an American settled in Mexico for the duration, offers her some help in her mission. Although Margo and her father eventually find each other, their reunion fades into the distance as Eugene and Margo chase after some stolen money. Along the way, Margo is propositioned by wealthy Norman Kane (Joseph Hacker) to perform for one of his pool parties -- further stripping the plot of credibility. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

What a gem comedy/drama this film is! The story concerns Margo hilariously portrayed by Margot Kidder arriving in Mexico to see ailing father whom soon dies not long after but not before telling her of a stolen treasure in a ghost-town buried years beore. Along the way Margo hitches up with Eugene played by Ted Danson performed wonderfully in the part. The two set off into adventure holding down jobs in small towns she a proffessional-stripper and he as bartender tests their romantic-relationship as on their weekends they search for the buried Treasure and conflict ensues as he wonders whether the Treasure was just the old man's delusion and she never giving-up the promise of her fathers buried fortune. In the end they may find the treasure or the greatest of them all love.

You will probably have trouble locating this title at your local video store, but look for it. The story, the casting and the locations are excellent. The depictions of 2 Americans in rural Mexico are fresh and interesting. Good luck finding a copy.
