Plot: A man gets a very big surprise when he meets his prospective son-in-law in this comedy. Percy Jones (Bernie Mac) is the understandably proud father of Theresa (Zoe Saldana), a beautiful and intelligent young woman living in New York City. When Percy learns that his daughter is dating someone and things are getting serious, he decides to do some research, and learns that her beau is a solid businessman. Percy arranges to meet the young man, but is a bit taken aback when he comes face to face with Simon Green (Ashton Kutcher) -- Percy and his wife are African-American, and Simon is very, but very Caucasian. When it becomes clear that Simon and Theresa's relationship is likely altar-bound, Percy finds himself suddenly full of misgivings about the young man, especially since Simon tends to get rather clumsy when he's nervous. Guess Who was loosely adapted from the 1967 hit Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, though the race of the prospective father and son have been swapped, and the original film's comic undercurrent has been pushed to the forefront. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Interracial relationships not an issue?? Yeah for banging not marriage!

This movie brings an new side to the story, that few movies dare to tap into. A black girl, actually ENGAGED to a white guy, who's well above low income status, doesn't happen often. As much as people may chose to be ignorant about the reality of inerracial relationships the truth is that most romantic relationships between black/white especially a black female and white male does not get pass the status of sex maybe if you are lucky girlfriend unless there are big gaps as in the black female being educated and better salaried and the white male usually in a blue collar job. The truth is that in upper class white america the blonde haired, blue eyed is still the preferred type.

GUESS WHO has a great cast with great chemistry and Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher are really funny together. If you want to see a heartfelt movie that deals with family, and 2 young people in love, then I suggest you see this movie. This is the way they used to make comedies, funny and sweet.

Kevin Rodney Sullivan does a fine job with a good script. Definitely a feel good movie with a good music score and I love the songs picked for the movie. I consider this a perfect film.

Also, DVD has director's commentary.

Good Family Comedy

With 13 siblings, I have learned that everyone has their own tastes when it comes to family movies. "Guess Who" is a film that will appeal to all ages, offer some laughs and teach a good lesson all at the same time. Wonderful acting on all actors' parts.
