One of the Best Movies of All-time

Wow! I am so glad I made this purchase. I read this book in high school, or was assigned to do so, anyway. High school to me was a blur and I don't remember a whole lot about it, including the details of this book. I couldn't appreciate it then. I picked the book up, again, about a year ago. I loved it from the start and it got better and better, and it had a happy ending. I'm not an avid reader but this book will always be one of my favorites. It's classy, rich, and a must read.
I shied away from watching this movie because I didn't want it to destroy the book like so many remakes of any kind sometimes do. Well, my avoiding this movie was totally unnecessary. This movie is fantastic! It captured all the characters very well, in particular Elizabeth and Darcy. I will say that whilst watching it for the first time and even at the end of the movie it felt rushed, but what do you expect from a two-hour movie based off of a 400 page novel. It's just because I loved the book so that the movie seemed swift; I wanted every line of the book to be developed. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this movie after having watched it the first time. I love movies and it has become my new favorite. As much as the book is a must-read, this movie is a must-see. You need to own it. You won't be disappointed.

The Best Pride & Prejudice Movie

This version of Pride & Prejudice is the best ever made...to try and put into words how beautiful this film is would be extremely hard...if you miss seeing this film...then you have cheated yourself of one of the finest experiences you will ever have.

Need to warn will not play in dvd

Very disappointed this will not play in dvd. A different type of player is required. This was a waste of time and money.

Pride and Prejudice

I'm a 23 year old male who does not enjoy chick flicks as much as an action movie. I had seen parts of the old Pride and Prejudice and as such was not excited when my wife received this movie as a wedding gift. However, I agreed to watch it with her. Much to my surprise it held my interest the entire length of the film. It was warm and occasionally humorous. All in all a very well done classic. While still not my favorite genre, I do recommend this movie as a must see.

Just enjoy it

Well, I have read many "1 star" reviews. I understand why they think this movie worths only one star. But, it's a movie, an adaption. There will be never a perfect adaption. If we always try to pick up the faults on a literature adaption when watching it, I doubt who can really enjoy it. I just want to let my brain flow with the characters, sit back and relax. I think this movie does a fairly good job on making the story entertaining and romantic. If I want to study each character and the details of the era, I will pick up the book and enjoy its originality.
