Plot: Directed by Michael Moore, whose aura of controversy only grew after his Oscar acceptance speech at the 2003 Academy Awards, Fahrenheit 9/11, like Moore's Bowling For Columbine and Roger & Me, promises to expose the corporate wrongdoings and big-money scandals perpetrated by America's financial elite. This movie, however, looks beyond the inner echelons of General Motors and Lockheed Martin in hopes of outing the evildoers in the White House, particularly in regards to the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush. In addition to criticizing the administration's handling of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, Moore digs deep into the surprising relationship with the Bin Laden family held by both Bush administrations, and questions whether or not potential Saudi involvement with the attacks has been ignored. As Fahrenheit 9/11's {~Cannes Film Festival} debut approached, marking only the second time in 48 years that a documentary has been included among the festival's main competition, Miramax's parent company Disney announced it would not be distributing the film due to its partisan nature, and, according to Moore, out of trepidation that the Florida-based Goliath's multi-million-dollar tax breaks might be negatively affected by Florida Governor Jeb Bush, whose review within Fahrenheit 9/11 is less than favorable. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide

Creep!
Added 11/23/2009

Over the course of my many years on this earth, I have voted for more Republican candidates for president than Democrats. In the last four elections, however, my votes went to: Nader (twice), Kerry and then Obama. It's hard for me to imagine that history will not come to judge George W. Bush as our worst president ever.

Be that as it may, I doubt that there have been many worse documentary film makers than Michael Moore. To cite just one example from "Fahrenheit 9/11," there is a short clip where Bush appears to be standing in the midst of a bunch of fat cats, talking about his "base" (i.e., the "haves and have-mores"); this clip was plucked, misleadingly, from a massive fundraising event/dinner put on by the Catholic Church [in which both presidential candidates (Bush and Gore) were in attendance] and at which both were expected to poke fun at themselves for the purpose of giving these donors to Catholic charities something to laugh at. Moore's film cut made it look like Bush was SERIOUSLY pandering to this group. He did this throughout the "Fahrenheit" mockumentary, and I would recommend that you watch the rebuttal-film, "FahrenHYPE 9/11," to see just how extensively Moore's "end justifies the means" philosophy makes an absolute travesty of documentary filmmaking.

"FahrenHYPE" was hastily put together in only four months after Moore's picture came out, and it has its own over-the-top right wing political ax to grind, but it's quite straightforward with its message, and it doesn't use gimmickry and duplicity to push its pro (2004 pre-election) Iraq war agenda. If, however, you can get beyond having to watch some clips of the shrill Ann Coulter, and a few others, the film's real value--amounting to well over half its 80 minute length--consists in pointing out the many spliced, diced, and edited fabrications and distortions (lies, really) that Moore used to go after a president who so sorely lacked the intellectual heft, ecumenical breadth, and diplomatic skill for the job.

What A Waste of time!!!
Added 10/7/2009

A total waste of time and money. This movie is completely false and unsupported. Just him and his cronies views and no one else. The media, Hollywood and his views and antics are so far left, that as a Firefighter in the NYC area, I'm ashamed to call him a citizen! He should be referred to as Comrade. And now he's going after big business with his new movie. Hummm... I wonder if he'll disclose how much money he has made so far? I guess it's ok to go after capitalism, as long as you don't look at him and his cronies in Hollywood!

You can't have your twinkie and eat it too ! Which is it, fat boy ......Did America drop the ball by not being on top of national security or are we unustly persecuting those misunderstood people who only want to express their religious beliefs ? --- As usual, Michael wants it both ways which means it is ALWAYS ONLY Michael's way. Michael only asks and answers the questions he wants to ask and answer and always avoids answering any questions which might threaten his position or asking any questions which does not support his position.
How does Michael accomplish this ? He uses the oldest trick in the book which is to avoid answering a question by answering the question with another question rather than an actual answer. I am a retired Detective who was @ WTC on 9/11 and I was lucky enough to survive unlike the other 3,000 innocent men , women and children who perished on that terrible day. Simply put -- Moore is a fraudulent, hypocritical, flawed director who makes films comprised primarily of fiction and markets them as fact. Moore dishonors all of the people who were lost on 9/11.
