Plot: A young woman takes her obsession with Brit-pop's crown prince of mope a little too far in this independently produced comedy. Jackie (Jackie B) is a morose young woman with a dead-end TV job and an all-involving pastime: worshipping Morrissey. Her apartment is a shrine, and most of her time outside of it is spent trolling local record stores for out-of-print Smiths LPs and other memorabilia, for which she has a uniquely physical fetish. It isn't long before she moves on to actually stalking the celebrity, showing up uninvited at The Moz's favorite L.A. eateries and clubs. When she snags his leftovers at a local diner, however, Morrissey himself (Jose Maldonado) happens to notice, offering to give the poor girl a ride home. Too paralyzed with fear to actually speak to her beloved, Jackie returns to her life of obsession-from-afar, but with a new twist: she's convinced that she and Morrissey are a couple. As her friends and co-workers try to talk her out of her delusion, she only grows more and more certain that she'll indeed be spending the rest of her life with Morrissey. Screened at festivals in 2003, My Life With Morrissey was written and directed by Andrew Overtoom, who achieved success as a director on the infinitely popular animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. ~ Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide

I read the reviews before ordering the movie and chose to disregard all the negative feedback and order it anyways. I made a mistake. It isn't the worst thing I've ever seen, but it's pretty close. I wouldn't be as upset about it being bad if I hadn't spent money on it. I am a huge Morrissey fan, and this movie did let me laugh at myself a bit, which was nice. But overall she could have been obsessed with any other star, the movie didn't actually have much to do with Morrissey. If you know someone who owns this movie or can rent it, please do that instead. I don't regret seeing it, but I do regret spending money on it.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I have been laughing all day just thinking about this movie. This is seriously great! The humor throughout was spectacular. Do people not realize that this movie is SUPPOSED to be funny? The irony is that you KNOW there are actually people out there like this. I betcha Morrissey himself loves this. He has a wicked sense of humor. Oh, priceless!

If you want to see a movie about Morrissey's bizarre fanbase and can't take a (fictional)joke, then don't see this movie. Go watch Is It Really So Strange? instead. (Which I thought was WRETCHED, and made me feel ashamed to be a fan.)
This is surely not my all time favorite flick, but I recommend it to ANYONE who has a sense of humor. I love it!

Now.....if you'll excuse me, I have to go make out with my Morrissey poster. M'mmmmm....

This movie is a riot. I bought it despite the extremely long and detailed reviews saying it was a waste of time. I figured there must have been some reason these people devoted so much MORE of their time to write such long reviews... I wondered, why did it strike a cord with these people? I found out BECAUSE it's NUTS! I'm not an extreme Morrissey fan like the girl in the film, but I am a fan of independent film. As far as low-budget indie films this one takes the cake! Funny, silly, wacky and downright insane at times... kudos to the independent filmmaker that made this film!!

Worst Movie Ever

This is the most painful 85 minutes that you will ever sit through. The movie sucks. Nothing about it is funny, just stupid. I think I could make a better movie with my camera phone. stupid.

Yeah, it's kind of over-the-top funny, especially in the way it portrays the character of a rabid Moz fan (we've all had to stand in line with them, and we've all safely watched from them afar as they tear his tossed shirt into tiny shreds...), but as a movie or a comedy, nothing quite says "low-budget" like this movie. Seriously, it takes about 35 minutes worth of something that would be good sketch comedy and stretches it out into an eternity. This makes "Joe Dirt" look like Oscar material. Find someone who has a copy and borrow it-- the original owner won't even care if you fail to return it. Better yet, save your money and just go buy another bouquet of gladiolas.
