Plot: Warner Bros. attempted to revitalize its animation division with this family adventure that blended live action and animation in the style of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), reportedly coming in with a price tag of $100 million. Basketball legend Michael Jordan stars as himself, a retired sports hero trying his hand at baseball and failing miserably. Meanwhile, the Looney Tunes gang, led by Bugs Bunny, are kidnapped by aliens called the Nerdlucks. It seems that the Nerdlucks' theme park, Moron Mountain (a barely-veiled dig at Disney) is failing to attract customers. The space invaders are convinced that the appearance of Bugs and his pals Porky Pig and Speedy Gonzalez will beef up business. Bugs makes his captors a deal -- they'll play a game of basketball for their freedom. When the Nerdlucks stack the deck by pilfering the talent of NBA superstars Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing, the Warner Bros. heroes enlist the aid of Jordan, who returns to the court to help the classic characters. While he prepares to play, Jordan is aided by fellow celebrity Bill Murray. Director Joe Pytka previously created many of the television commercials that featured Jordan as a paid endorser. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

My kids have been waiting for this movie to arrive for this movie since Sept. 15 today is Oct. 15 we still have not received it. I called the vendor AOKMOVIES2 to find out what could be done. The customer service rep (3)that I spoke to was not very friendly or appoligetic for the movie not arriving. The customer service rep instantly processed my payment return. I had to call back to speak to a manager who was very customer service oriented. He offered to resend the movie Oct. 12 but it still has not arrived. I ordered Monsters Vs. Aliens from another vendor Oct 8 and it was in my mail box Oct 14. I am still waiting for Space Jam that was remailed by manger at AOKMOVIES2.

Basketball, according to the Looney Tunes
Added 10/12/2009

Who would have thought that Looney Tunes and Basketball would be a pretty good mix? Bugs and Daffy and friends are about to be taken as slaves for Mister Swackhammer, the proprietor for Moron Mountain. They must defeat Swackhammer's tiny minions with a game of basketball. This would be easier than expected (seeing that it was Bugs and his friends' idea in the first place), but the minions have stolen the talents of Basketball all-stars (including Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley) and have become the "Monstars"! They are now stronger and bigger than they were before. So now, the Looney Tunes have only one hope: Michael Jordan. And what you get is 88 minutes of good ol' hilarity, with slapstick humor that's almost equal to the original animated Looney shorts.

This is a very entertaining movie. It has Bugs, Sylvester, and Daffy playing basketball with M.J., which is a pretty memorable concept. The reason why I've given this film four stars instead of five is because of Lola Bunny. She was a very unnecessary addition to the Looney Tunes. She's not funny, she's irritating, and she tries too hard to look attractive. Another reason is Michael Jordan's acting. It's very wooden at times, but he's not as bad as Shaq (I think you know which movie I'm talking about). But everything else is just fine. Wayne Knight and Bill Murray are pretty funny in their supporting roles. But the real stars here are, of course, the Looney Tunes. I'm pretty sure that fans of Bugs, Yosemite Sam, Tweety, and Marvin the Martian will get a kick out of this movie. It's fun for both families and Looney Tunes fans.

I ordered this to replace the VHS copy we alreay own. We received the shipment in a timely manner and the packaging appears in good shape. I am actually saving it for a Christmas present so we haven't watched it yet. I trust the DVD is in as good of condition as the case, so I don't expect any problems.

This was a movie we really enjoyed. I bought it for my two year old twin grand boys who love basketball like their Dad. It was a great way for my son and them to spend some time together. The boys loved the animation and they sat and watched the entire movie. Of course it had to be watched again the next day. The quality of the movie was excellent. The delivery was outstanding. I was told I would receive in 5-10 days and I had it in 3 days. I enjoyed this the first time it was on the movie screen and I relived my enjoyment watching with my grand sons. Thanks for helping to make a wonderful memory.
