Plot: This sci-fi comedy from Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) director Susan Seidelman stars John Malkovich along with several other actors from his Steppenwolf Theatre troupe in Chicago. Malkovich stars as Dr. Jeff Peters, a scientist for the Chemtech Corporation who has invented an affable robotic clone of himself named Ulysses (also played by Malkovich). Unfortunately, Jeff is long on brains but short on personality or warmth, leaving his double an empty vessel, emotionally speaking. Believing that if Ulysses only had a bit more spark he could be utilized as a publicity gimmick and fundraising tool, Chemtech sends public relations executive Frankie Stone (Ann Magnuson) to train him in the ways of the heart and human interaction. What Frankie ends up with, however, is her own personal version of the perfect mate. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

This was as fun the second time around as it was the first time. John Malkovich being really silly in an 80's flick. Pure fun and silliness.

My husband I saw this movie when it first came out. We absolutely loved it! I decided to get this movie to share with my grown children. Even now, after some 20-odd years later, the movie is still hilarious! It's a wonderful movie to watch with your family. I highly recommend it. Thank you, Amazon.com, for carrying it!!!

Very funny movie. John Malkovich was at hisbestas a robot and scientist, both totally opposite in their roles. Worth buying. Loved adding this one to my collection.

Very underrated movie of the late eighties.

Funny, comic and cute, Ann Magnuson was terrific in this movie. She dosen't seem to make to many movies, I don't know why, she's certainly talented enough. Well, I guess in Hollyweird not all people with talent become stars. John was less obnoxious in this film, but I think he was just starting out in film. The whole cast was adorable and perfect in their parts. Enjoy!
