Plot: Can the world's oldest adolescent maintain his cool while living with his grandmother? Alex (Allen Covert) is a 35-year-old video-game fanatic who gave up a career in accounting to take a job testing games for Brainasium, the company behind the wildly popular game Eternal Death Slayer. While Alex took a big pay cut to land his dream job, he's happy with his work and is making ends meet -- until he discovers that his roommate hasn't paid the rent for the last six months, using the money to finance repeated visits to a local massage parlor. After running out of friends who will let him sleep on their couch, Alex swallows his pride and moves in with his grandma Lily (Doris Roberts), who loves Alex and is happy to give him a place to stay in exchange for doing chores around the house. Lily shares her home with two friends, perpetually confused Bea (Shirley Knight) and sexually adventurous Grace (Shirley Jones), and between the three of them, there's always work to be done, keeping Alex busy nearly every night. While Alex tells his co-workers he's living with three attractive women who are running him ragged, they don't know the real story; in the meantime, Alex is trying to charm Brainasium's beautiful new executive, Samantha (Linda Cardellini), while butting heads with the firm's space-case CEO Cheezle (Kevin Nealon) and J.P. (Joel David Moore), a teenage game designer who is no longer in touch with reality. Grandma's Boy was the first feature film from director Nicholaus Goossen. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Grandma's Boy is a very funny comedy about a 35-year-old video games expert who is forced to live with his Grandmother and her two friends, and one thing led to another, everyone is taking bong hits and doing perverted acts to date. My personal favorite in this movie is Shirley Jones(of the Partridge Family fame)playing the role of an 60-plus whore. This film is perfect for any fan of crazy teen sex comedy films, but take note, Grandma's Boy is not suitable for young viewers!

A movie you don't want to like becomes the movie you recommend to all of your friends. Such is the case with "Grandma's Boy".

"Grandma's Boy" stars Allen Covert in the title role. You may recognize him from many of Adam Sandler's films, notably "The Wedding Singer", where he plays Sammy, the friend who wears the Michael Jackson-esque outfits and drives a limousine.

Anyway, "Grandma's Boy" is the story of man-child Alex, a 35 year old with a career as a video game tester. Hijinks ensue when Alex is forced to move in with his loving grandmother, Lilly, (Doris Roberts of "Everybody Loves Raymond" fame), and her two roommates. Grace, (Shirley Jones), has the libido of a 20 year old and Bea, (Shirley Knight), is overmedicated to the point of bringing Terret's Syndrome-type humor to the mix.

Alex, of course, does not want to admit that he lives with his grandmother, so he tells all of his friends/co-workers, including his sexy new boss, (Linda Cardellini), that "three hot babes" live with him. But soon enough, the secret is revealed and the real fun begins.

The real dilemma is presented though when a rival co-worker, J.P., (Joel Moore), with some serious identity issues is working against Alex to try and present a new and impressive video game idea that will increase his ego and make everyone else look like crap, as always. But this year, Alex has a new plan up his sleeve that might make J.P. back down once and for all and look like the psycho he...well...already looks like...but worse!

If you like stoner humor, karate-chopping chimps, men who talk like robots, pop culture references, drunken karaoke, unfortunate incidents with Lara Croft dolls and enough sexual innuendo to make the world go 'round, then you'll love "Grandma's Boy". Also starring Jonah Hill, Kevin Nealon, Nick Swardson, David Spade and Rob Schneider. You might recognize these people from their following credits:

Jonah Hill--has appeared in such films as "Knocked Up" and "Superbad"--a member of Judd Apatow's brat-pack.

Joel Moore--he has been in everything lately from "Dodgeball" to Katy Perry's music video for "Waking Up in Vegas".

Nick Swardson--a popular stand-up comedian with specials on Comedy Central.

Kevin Nealon--SNL alum. Also briefly appeared in "The Wedding Singer" as the banker Adam Sandler goes to for a loan.

David Spade--another SNL alum. You'd probably know him from the TV show, "Just Shoot Me" or the films "Joe Dirt", "Black Sheep" and "Tommy Boy".

Rob Schneider--yet another SNL alum who has been in most of Sandler's body of work, except for a few films he branched out on his own with, including "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" and "The Hot Chick".

The way Adam Sandler productions should be

Grandma's Boy is the best movie in the Happy Madison lineup, and it doesn't have Sandler in it! Hilarious jokes, video game & weed references, and you can't beat the character J.P. Adam Sandler should continue to produce this kind of film, and stop with the predictable date movie where he helps a washed up female actress try to find redemption in the Hollywood spotlight. (Barrymoore, Ryder, Biel, etc.) Go back to your roots, Mr. Billy Madison!

If Rotten Tomatoes is any guide, this may be the worst movie I LOVE. A whopping 16% of critics gave it a positive review when it was released. In fact, I didn't pay it the slightest bit of attention when it was in theaters and only bothered to rent it one week when my Netflix list hit rock bottom. And am I glad that I did. This movie is funny, beginning to end. Nick Swardson, however, steals the show as best friend of Allen Covert (aka The Grey Bush). His line deliveries are subtle, unexpected and hilarious. Hell, if this movie was a minute and a half long and ONLY featured the scene of Linda Cardellini singing and dancing to Salt N Peppa's "Push It" it would STILL be worth buying. One of my Top 10 favorite comedies ever. I say with NO embarrassment that I love it almost as much as I do Superbad, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Caddyshack, The Hangover, Stripes, Some Like It Hot, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.
