Plot: American independent filmmaker Lawrence Blume makes his feature debut with the absurd dark comedy Martin & Orloff, starring a lot of the folks from the Upright Citizens Brigade. Martin Flam (Ian Roberts) designs mascot costumes for a corporate chain of Chinese restaurants. After a failed suicide attempt, he goes to see the incompetent therapist Dr. Eric Orloff (Matt Walsh). Under the guise of conducting therapy sessions, the quack doctor then drags Martin on a series of seemingly random adventures about town. Dr. Orloff then recruits a gang of oddballs and malcontents (played by Katie Roberts, Sal Graziano, David Cross, and H. Jon Benjamin) to help Martin face his fears. The film also includes cameos from comedians Janeane Garofalo, Tina Fey, Andy Richter, and Amy Poehler. I'm a huge fan of UCB, but this movie wasn't anything special. It felt like it was trying to be edgy just to be edgy. It's funny and painful at points, and it certainly feels like it was written by sketch comics. If you can keep your expectations low it's not a bad movie.

Hilarious! These guys are incredibly funny/wierd. If you like Upright Citizens Brigade then I promise you will like this.IF you have never seen Upright Citizens Brigade then you should.

If you like UCB then you will like this movie. If you don't enjoy insanity, then you probably will not get it.

non-sensical but hilarious

this is a comedy with little plot but is still quite possibly the funniest movie I have ever seen. If you liked the upright citizens brigade you'll love this movie. the acting was great the delivery of lines was excellent, and the wacky situations were hilarious.

This was bad. Forced un-funny humor. Don't waste your time watching this. I struggled through about 1 hour of it and then dumped the DVD in the trash.
