Plot: This entry in the perennially popular teen horror genre is from writer/director Steve Carpenter and the producers of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and Urban Legend (1998). Melissa Sagemiller stars as Cassie, a college freshman trying to get over the death of her boyfriend Sean (Casey Affleck) in an auto accident. Making matters worse is that ever since the car crash, which also nearly claimed her own life, Cassie has seemed to hover in a netherworld between the living and the dead, where she believes she's hallucinating some spooky, emotional visitations from Sean. In the meantime, she's also coming under the sway of her mysterious friends Matt (Wes Bentley) and Annabel (Eliza Dushku) as well as an androgynous acquaintance (Angela Featherstone) of theirs. Unsure whom she can trust, Cassie turns for aid to an enigmatic young priest, Father Jude (Luke Wilson), but the ultimate truth about her condition and state of mind may come as a shocking revelation. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Basically a remake of 1962 "Carnival of Souls".

I wouldn't go out of my way to see this film, but if there is nothing else to watch; it's not too bad.

The young ladies in tight outfits keep you awake. Add a star if you like the actresses.

Big Plot Holes?

This movie was OK. I'm still a little confused about the opening scene. It was really awful and then... nothing ever came of it. Two freaky raver guys commit a horrendous crime that seems to "mean" something. Throughout the movie they pop up to chase the main character. That opening scene is never explained or linked to anything else in the movie. I feel like they just threw it in to make the movie "scarier." By the way, this film is not scary at all. It's more like a drama. Luke Wilson, a favorite of mine, was horribly miscast and his character was almost funny, it was so terrible. He did the best he could... but he was playing a dead priest. I, like many people, was drawn to the movie because of Eliza Dushku... and on the cover of the box she looks like the main character. But no, her part was small and random and odd and the movie was mostly about "Cassie" played by Melissa Sagemiller. Her acting was fine, but I was exhausted by the "plot" which is repetitive and silly.

The Best...

I Think the movie was very good.
and there was a storyline.the story line was this girl making a mistake by kissin her ex and almost losing her life without telling her boyfriend what she hasn't told him which is that she loves him and she would die for him.
so she gets sucked into a coma or rather a nightmare.
