Righteous Indignation over French Colonialism WWII Era

This film does not compare to many other WWII efforts.
It is primarily a reminder of the overwhelming Liberal Whacko Trend that will continue until democracy is destroyed by Muslim Extremist or Anti-American forces.
It's good to understand the truth- that there has been evil in the world as a result of Bigotry & Colonialism, but to whine about it without ceasing is just unacceptable.
Grow up!
I recommend another war movie other than this one.

The Bottom Line:
Daygs of Glory/Indigenes would have been better served without the unnecessary Saving Private Ryan-esque ending, but it's still an interesting and well-directed war film that tells the story of characters we don't normally see fighting in WWII movies.

Days of Glorious filmmaking

While we are all aware that the French had their sorry rear ends saved by us good old American boys and our stodgy yet noble allies in England, many of us are unaware that indigenous Algerians also played a role in saving the French's sorry rear ends from their Nazi masters, and given the current state of French politics it would appear the French are also mighty ungrateful to the Algerians, though perhaps this film can change that. It shows the struggle that the colonized people, being lauded over and belittled by the French nobly sacrificed their own well-being to free France from tyranny, with the hopes that one day they would be freed from French tyranny, naturally the French screwed them out of their veterans status after the war and out of their pensions....typical....but perhaps in French youngsters see this they'll have more respect for the old Arab man up the street, given that if it weren't for that old Arab man (As well as the old American and old Englishman), then they'd be speaking German. Wonderful part of World War II that doesn't get much press.

I would give this movie a rating of 6 stars if I could. Based on true story with great acting and drama. Director Debbouze did it again.

French Colonial Troops from North Africa are due their pensions

Dear Sir or Madam:
This film convinces me that all surviving Islamic Veterans of French Colonies that served bravely and ably in the French 1st Army and French XIX Corps in the nightmarish and terrifying Battles; in the mountains and plains of Italy, France and Germany, during World War II; should be paid their full pensions, with interest, since 1959, when the pensions were taken away. The World War II Veterans of the French Colonies of France; especially Algeria, Morroco and Tunisia(the Legendary Tirailleurs and others) should have their military pensions fully reinstated by NATO down to the second generation if these French Colonial Soldiers have passed away or their children.
Perhaps, only then, can we be righteous and attain peace with are aging Muslim Comrades in Arms from World War II who live in Northwest Africa and France. Sincerely, Daniel P. Kneeland
