A Great Musical!
Added 10/2/2009
My gal and I spent a great evening watching this movie.
We sang along and laughed and danced around the living room.
What else do you want with a muscial?
And who would have thought Kevin Spacey was such a great song and dance man.
To those that critize this movie as not being "accurate", so would you critize "The King and I" or "South Pacific" for being historically inaccurate?
Wish Hollywood would make more movies like this.

GREAT movie.

VERY entertaining! Kevin Spacey did an excellent
job of portraying Bobby Darin. He did his own
singing and was "right on"...

Although I never did received the DVD, 'Beyond the Sea' I have seen the movie. I believe that it is one of the best films I ever seen. I was never a kevin Spacey fan but after I found out that he co-wrote this movie and that he acually sang the songs in the movie, I was impressed with how talented this guy really is. I highly recommend this movie, but don't try to buy it from iNetVideo.

Brings back musicals

Fantastic - Kevin Spacey totally nails this performance. The only problem is that it took Spacey years to convince the studios to make this movie and by the time it did get made, Spacey was older than Bobby Darin was when Bobby Darin died! That makes Spacey too old for Kate Bosworth, but Spacey is such a remarkable performer that he somehow makes it work. Also, keep your eyes open for scenes with Peter Cincotti, an incredible young piano player and crooner in his own right. I'm really bummed that this movie did not get the recognition it deserved from fans and critics alike. Let's hope that over time it becomes a cult favorite.

Way beyond the sea

Kevin Spacey delivers a phenomenal performance in portraying one of America's greatest singing icons. Mr Spacey radiates sensational talent that appears natural and with ease, along with an entire great supporting cast, including the youngster that stars as "Little Bobby", William Ullrich. A standing ovation for everyone on this one is well deserved.
This movie is done with such class (in reflection of Bobby of course); Instead of sending you away in tears over such loss, it definitely has a way of leaving you with a smile and remembering what remains :).
Thank you Kevin Spacey (who also wrote, directed, and produced) and a job well done!
With all that said, I always thought it was so sad that time was cut extremely too short for such an incredible human being as Bobby Darin. Rest in peace Bobby, you are one that's gone but truly never forgotten.
