Correction: Tomb Raider Not Targeting Wii U

Despite the magazine listing to the contrary, the new Tomb Raider reboot is not on the way to Wii U. In the interest of heading off misinformation at the pass, we wanted to drop a quick note correcting a mistake in the July issue of Game Informer, which is on shelves right now. We incorrectly listed Tomb Raider coming to Wii U, which is incorrect. Tomb Raider is headed to 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on March 5th of next year. We apologize for the error. You can check out our E3 coverage of Tomb Raider right here and here .

Tomb Raider E3 trailer reveals March 2013 launch

As some news is clearly too exciting to wait for E3, Square Enix has released a new Tomb Raider trailer to reveal that Crystal Dynamics' series reboot will arrive on March 5, 2013. But there's not just a date in the trailer, there's loads of young Lara scampering and sneaking around, and apologising before killing a deer. And then she stabs a sexy buff monk wearing seatless black leather hotpants in his neck. The reboot shows Lara's introduction to the world of creeping through tombs and murdering wildlife at a young age, after she's stranded on a spooky island in a shipwreck. Tomb Raider was due to arrive this fall, but it was recently delayed so Crystal Dynamics had time to "fully deliver the very highest quality game." It's coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And now, without much further ado, the E3 2012 trailer:

In order to do this, we have decided to move the game's release date by a few months," Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher wrote in a statement . "We're doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve.
