I enjoyed the movie very much, the character of Helene Hanff as a natural unpretentious book lover was beautifully portayed by Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins was the epitomy of a reserved English gentleman. Brilliant. This was a quality movie indeed.

Love comes in many wrappers. This is a different love story of two people who live in different countries. They have a main interest in books. Both bright. She is funny and he is dependable. You must see this dvd. My heart laughed and cried. Have a box of tissues...you will need them.

If you like Anthony Hopkins, this will be a movie to add to your collection. A touching story of how people interact and enrich other lives without ever meeting one another. It is also a reminder not to put things off to "some other day"...live life now...fully, completely.
