Bulletproof, wrong title, right movie
Added 6/27/2009
Bulletproof is a silly comedy with some pretty bad acting over all. Despite that, this will go down in history as one of my favorites. This was Adam Sandler's first attempt at making a more serious role after doing insane characters like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. Although this movie is no Big Daddy or Chuck and Larry, I would recommend it for any Sandler or Wayans fan!

Tough cop. Hostile Witness. Will they ever be able to get along?
Added 1/10/2009
Bulletproof (1996) Damon Wayans (Blankman) and Adam Sandler (Happy Gilmore) team up for this ragged but watchable buddy action comedy from director Ernest Dickerson (Surviving the Game). Wayans is an undercover cop who has spent a year befriending two-bit criminal Sandler in order to get closer to Sandler's boss (James Caan). When Wayans moves in to make his bust, it all goes wrong and Sandler accidentally shoots Wayans before escaping. Months later, Sandler is ready to turn himself in, but demands that a recovered Wayans be the cop to do it. Reluctantly, Wayans agrees, and soon they're both clay pigeons for Caan's henchmen. It's a cross between a Lethal Weapon sequel and yet another Saturday Night Live cast movie, and as such isn't exactly seamless. The guys get in some funny lines, but the film goes overboard with the comedy and gets silly too often, especially with all the violence. Sandler wavers between actually acting and doing an extension of his Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore roles, but Wayans is pretty good. All in all, if you like these guys, this will probably serve as entertainment, especially on good ol' home video. Also with James Farentino (Dead and Buried).

F Word Crazy
Added 5/15/2008
Ok, call me a prude. I'm sure someone will. But I spent 15 years in the US Navy so that label ain't gonna stick. It just seemed like you couldn't go 2 minutes without somebody proving they knew how to say the word over and over and over. There is no way you would ever want to watch this movie in mixed company, IMHO. Watch the TV version. They sanitize it. Ok, about the movie itself, getting past the gratuitous language, it's not half bad. Other people will give a synopsis of the movie which I won't bother repeating. Petty crook Sandler becomes good buddies with (unknown to him) undercover cop Wayans who has to betray the friendship and bust Sandler. Sandler accidentally shoots him (in the head ... ouch!) but he recovers. They both wind up on the run and reestablish the trust and friendship and Sandler gives up his life of crime. So in the end, the movie is about that: trust and friendship. And for that it gets some stars in the ratings category. It has its funny moments and it has some good action and chase scenes. It would have been a pretty good movie by anyone's standards if they had just left out the needless language. And so I say, watch the TV version, don't buy the DVD. Just my opinion.

Though not a masterpiece, a movie worth watching!
Added 5/4/2007
Bulletproof brings to the screen the story of two buddies who've made a habit of breaking the law. Things become rather complicated when the two have a fallout as a result of one turning out to be an undercover cop and the other shooting him in the head. Luck has it though, that the two are far from seeing the last of each other...
Though not a masterpiece, it is a funny film, guaranteed to provide more than a just a few laughs.
Adam Sandler, Damon Wayans, and the rest of the cast have truly outdone themselves with their performances, which are outstanding to say the least! All the actors, without exceptions, give it their 100% and it really shows!
The setting, the dialogues, the humor, and the music are all wonderful!
Overall, Bulletproof is a movie definitely worth watching, and even though you might want to stop short of adding it to your collection, it will surely put you in a good mood!
