One of the best

One of the few De Niro movies where I forgot the lead was De Niro - he did not play his 'typical" part. Streep was totally awesme, as was the rest of the cast. A love story of and for real people, with real lives. Probably won't be enjoyed by those who prefer shallow, pseudo comedic, or phoney adventure "love" stories. Acting by true talents, exceptional screen play and directing may confuse them, even bore them.

This appears to be the same dvd I just received. It is NOT widescreen. It's full screen. Isn't that false advertising?

Brought him home....

When this movie was released my now husband & I lived several states apart. After he saw this movie he knew that the only place he wanted to be was here with me, hoping I hadn't found someone else to love in the meantime since it had been 2 years. I hadn't and when he walked into the place where I worked sparks flew all over again, we reunited and have been together ever since, married for 20 years. We both enjoy watching this movie over and over and sharing old memories that kept us tied together even though we were miles apart.

Fallin In Love Robert De Niro Meryl Streep

Falling In Love with Robert De Niro, and Meryl Streep did not do well at the box office. I will never understand why. This is everything The Way We Were was not, believable! In a very different role, Robert De Niro is excellent as the leading man and Meryl Streep, as usual, gives a stellar performance. If you wish to see a honest, believable love story this will be one of your favorites.
