Bad for Senior Citizens...............................
Added 3/15/2010

Killing and eating people is certainly nothing that we want our grandparents to get involved with. Anthony Hopkins is old, so he's a role model for seniors. Frankly, we'd rather see an uplifting film about the aged such as the following:

1. Clipping coupons and sorting them by category.

2. Early bird supper - same food just cheaper.

3. Buick is a fine car, I enjoy mine.

4. Living Will Agony. They'll kill me to get a hold of my stamp collection.

5. Depends - protection that's really needed.

Now those are good film plots. We don't want grandpa to kill coeds any more than granny smoking dope, so we also don't recommend "It's Complicated" with that drug crazed Meryl Streep.

Manhunter restoration
Added 3/11/2010

I purchased this item in my persistent attempt to acquire a version of Manhunter that completely restored all the edits that had been made over the years. This ain't it. Get the Divimax version; it has them all back where they belong. I have not played the other two disks in this collection, as I already have Silence of the Lambs and have little interest in Hannibal or Hopkins version of him.

I find it curious that Manhunter and Blade Runner suffered so much from rampant editing of excellent products.

This Guy Just Might Be Crazy!...
Added 3/11/2010

Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) returns in this vast, wicked tale of revenge, murder, and insanity. Lecter has been in hiding, taking on a new identity, but someone has found him. This leads to a cat-and-mouse game in the streets of Rome. Meanwhile, agent Starling (Julianne Moore) continues her search for everyone's favorite cannibal. Mr. Lecter has troubles of his own this time, as a strange billionaire (Gary Oldman) will pay any price to locate and abduct him. With so much going on, HANNIBAL is never boring! A wonderfully gruesome sequel...

Tastes Just Like Chicken ;-)...

Guten Abend Mein Herrin,
I don't write spoilers. This is a very good movie, & a fine member of the SotL storyline. Really a nice expansion on the plot. One problem: Julianne Moore. I've nothing against her, but feel she let this film down badly. She simply didn't "Bring it." I thought Foster was snubbed for this role when it was released. In order to have the money to pay for Hopkins. I was wrong. She took a pass on it. IMHO, Ms.Moore barely acted @all in this. An unemotional Poker Face through most of the film. You get little or no sense of her turmoil, motivation, or pain. Looks like this is the last in the series, a fine job.

Hannibal
Added 1/6/2010

Ten years have passed since Dr. Hannibal Lecter escaped from custody, ten years since FBI Agent Agent Clarice Starling interviewed him in a maximum security hospital for the criminally insane. The doctor is now at large in Europe, pursuing his own interests and savoring the scents and essences of an unguarded world. But Starling has never forgotten her encounters with Dr. Lecter, and the metallic rasp of his seldom-used voice still haunts her dreams. But Mason Verger remembers Dr. Lecter, too, and is obsessed with revenge. Verger was Dr. Lecter's sixth victim, and though hideously disfigured, has survived to rule a vast financial empire. What a great movie. Excellent story line and brillantly acted by Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore. Intriguing and very creepy.
