Better than expected

I read the other reviews for this movie.. and decided to purchase it. I did so thinking maybe it would be too "corny".. but in fact it turned out to be quite a delightful watch! If you are in the mood for something light-hearted, something to lift your spirits and make you smile... it is absolutely worth the time.

Is their a rating with no stars??
Added 1/28/2010
I've been searching for good movies in the Blu Ray format, but the pickings have been mighty slim. Too many of movies are high in computerized mayhem, comic book characters and extra-human gymnastics and watery thin in plot, while the others are shallow, crude, unfunny and just plain dumb "romantic comedies-???) like this one.
None of the delightful romantic tension between D B Sweeney and Moira Kelly in "The Cutting Edge" or the more mature interaction between Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton in "Somethings Got to Give" ever develops in this one.
Don't waste your money.
I wish the disc producers were quicker in transferring more of the old classics to the new format which is really incredible and worth the money, instead of putting out inane drivel like this.

A cute chick flick
Added 1/24/2010
Yes, this movie is totally predictable: Man and Woman are best friends. Man and Woman are made for each other. Man is too stupid to realize it. Woman gets tired of sitting around and falls in love with a rich and handsome foreigner. Woman becomes engaged to said foreigner. Man then realizes he loves Woman and needs to win her heart.
Despite its lack of originality, "Made of Honor" is a cute romantic comedy and features the super cute Patrick Dempsey, so this Woman Reviewer recommends it as an enjoyable chick flick.

Predictable plot, stale humor
Added 1/24/2010
A predictable storyline, dragging pace, and jokes stale enough to make you wince keep this film from getting off the grond. Many attempts at humor feel canned and fail miserably - an elderly woman proudly wearing a sex toy she mistakes for a necklace, a matronly Scottish aunt suddenly blurting out "Athol" at the dinner table, suggesting a possible name for her nephew's future child...and so on. I sensed no real chemistry between Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan either. I wondered why anyone would want to root for her in the end when she humiliates her husband-to-be at their wedding, a man who treats her like royalty and showers her with devotion throughout the film, only to fling herself into the arms of her long time best friend, an immature womanizer who never realized he had any real feelings for Hannah, though he's had ten years to think about it. The movie ends with Dempsey flying off a runaway horse and into the wedding chapel right before the "I do's" like a....well, like an Athol. Ugh. The one star is for Sidney Pollack, who is the funniest thing in the movie.

gift well recieved
Added 1/17/2010
I was lucky to get three bonus Blu-ray discs free when I purchased the Panasonic 360 Blu-Ray Player for my son as a present for Christmas. The movies included in the offer; Made of Honor, 21, and Casino Royale, which were all discs of movie +BD live, which made him happy. He really enjoyed Made of Honor, and the added new material.
Mom was happy the gift turned out to be an even greater success than expected. Thanks Amazon.
