The fight scenes have a wow factor similar to the 300 movie. The story like flowed very well. Some very impossible magical healings took away from the believability factor several times even for a Ninja movie. Still, a very well done movie with some really nice action fight scenes you haven't seen before. I expect we will see more movies from the star actors (young and old) as they had very good on screen presence.

One of the greatest martial arts films I've ever seen!

This movie ranks right up there with Bruce Lee's best. Groundbreaking for 21st century martial arts movies. This one sets the standard and raises the bar so high that maybe only a sequel could come close to it. Great story! Great foreshadowing! Great acting! And unbelievable fight scenes and visual effects! This movie truly got the shaft at the Oscars! Come on, not even a nomination for visual effects? I would still understand an Avatar win, but come on, at least a nomination. Its only obvious downfall is the fact that it is more violent than every film Quentin Tarantino ever made, possibly put together. Not necessarily bad, but a turnoff if the movie-goer is opposed to excessive violence. For what this movie is, it delivers on every level! I did not watch this movie, I experienced it!

PURE GENIUS

I have been a big ninja fan since I was 4(thanks to watching ninja and kung-fu movies with my father). I can honestly say that this is the best ninja movie I had ever seen in my life. The action and the plot is pure genius and add all that to hi def, magical. Get this movie and tell a friend about it. You won't regret it. Rain should be the star big action kung-fu star. five out of five.

Korean pop artist Rain is popular because of his singing but ....

- The fighting scenes get so much help from camera tricks, and CGI animation that they look obviously fake. For example, when Rain used a bath towel to fight a female ninja in the laundry room. At first glance, it looked interesting. However, after a closer look, I found they had awkwardly utilized camera or CGI tricks. Also, in the last scene, the firefight where Rain fought against his former master, the environment was so dark, I could hardly see a thing. I was told the darkness was used to hide the wires or some other cinema tricks. I believed so.
Besides, the action look stiff and not realistic. No, the martial art skill of this movie is not comparable to that of Tony Jaa , Jackie Chan , Sammo Hung and Donnie Yen.
- The acting leaves so much to desire. The dialogue does not help either.
In short, Korean pop artist Rain is popular because of his singing but he's not a promising action actor.

A bloody good time

This movie is bloody, violent and action packed. Not for the faint of heart. I'm so glad I saw it in the theater but can't wait to watch it again at home. One of the best ninja movies out today....
