Rachel Nichols And Her "Friends"
Added 1/10/2010
That might have been a better title for this movie than "P2." I actually found it very difficult to concentrate on anything other than Rachel Nichol's beautiful God given "friends." Once the dinner scene begins in which she is shown wearing a very low cut dress that was it for me, I found my eyes drawn to her chest like a laser guided bomb locks on to a target. Try as I might to focus on other scene elements, it was to no avail. I guess women viewers won't have this problem, but if you're a guy planning on buying this DVD you have been warned.
I will be honest, I don't think I've ever seen Rachel Nichols in anything else before, but she is a very good actress. She works through the full range of emotions in this film and is very believable doing so. The poor girl goes through hell in this movie, everything from being drugged, tasered ("Don't tase me bro!"), nearly drowned, attacked by a vicious Rottweiler, and left to run around in said skimpy dress as her only form of clothing (barefoot too) in the middle of a Manhattan winter etc. However looking at the DVD case it's quite clear what aspect of her many "talents" the Producers/Director wish to promote, and it's not her acting skills! Wes Bentley was good as the obsessed psycho, but like the Amazon review said, the Elvis thing felt tacked on and not very convincing. What is impressive however is it's basically a character driven thriller with only Rachel and Wes as the main characters, and they both do a great job of carrying the movie. Budget constraints were pretty obvious as the whole film was shot in a parking garage save for the opening scene of Rachel's character in her office.
In closing, this is a three and a half star movie (when is Amazon going to incorporate half stars in their rating system?) since there is nothing particularly original about the movie. It moves along at a fast pace and at no point did I ever find myself bored. It's fairly bloody/gory in a few scenes too, especially the scene with the poor guy tied to a chair, but nothing excessive or distracting. If you're a guy and have a nosy girlfriend like I do and choose to purchase this DVD I would advise you to keep it separate from the rest of your movie collection, as it will be pretty obvious to her the impetus behind the purchase. "No honey, really, it's a very well acted thriller. What about her low-cut skimpy dress, I didn't even notice it to be honest!"

P2 was awesome, especially on HD DVD
Added 1/9/2010
Yeah, so the HD DVD version of P2 was supposed to have not released. Good news? It leaked out and is worth it for the few of you that both like Horror movies and collect HD DVD's. Basically, the story of a woman stalked through a parking structure of her workplace by the security guard on Christmas Eve. It lends itself to some crazy moments in the movie and it was easily very underated as a film as the storyline is well written as the acting was very well done. One of the best things about the film is that most of the stuff that happens is very believable to boot. The quality of the HD DVD is very nice as the picture is clean and clear and the sound screams through your stereo system. The disc has some really nice extras as well. I'd recommend it for those of you that enjo0y obscure format movies as P2 is one of those that will end up being quite rare later on as not many of the HD discs were made. Excellent film in an excellent format, it's worth the purcahse.

Mindless Gore

This is just another formulaic, predictable Hollywood thriller - there are thousands of movies just like it. The scene where the car smashes a man tied into a chair against a wall hits new lows. The splatter of the blood and the man's intestines hits new lows. Hang on for the ride everyone, we live in a sick society.
