Plot: A riveting action-thriller, Push burrows deep into the deadly world of psychic espionage where artificially enhanced paranormal operatives have the ability to move objects with their minds, see the future, create new realities and kill without ever touching their victims. Against this setting, a young man and a teenage girl take on a clandestine agency in a race against time that will determine the future of civilization. The Division, a shadowy government agency, is genetically transforming citizens into an army of psychic warriors and brutally disposing of those unwilling to participate. Nick Gant (Chris Evans), a second-generation telekinetic or mover, has been in hiding since the Division murdered his father more than a decade earlier. He has found sanctuary in densely populated Hong Kong the last safe place on earth for fugitive psychics like him but only if he can keep his gift a secret. Nick is forced out of hiding when Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), a 13-year-old clairvoyant or watcher, seeks his help in finding Kira, (Camilla Belle), an escaped pusher who may hold the key to ending the Division's program. Pushers possess the most dangerous of all psychic powers: the ability to influence others' actions by implanting thoughts in their minds. But Cassie's presence soon attracts the attention of the Division's human bloodhounds, forcing Nick and Cassie to flee for their lives. With the help of a team of rogue psychics, the unlikely duo traverses the seedy underbelly of the city, trying to stay one step ahead of the authorities as they search for Kira. But they find themselves square in the crosshairs of Division Agent Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou), a pusher who will stop at nothing to keep them from achieving their goal.

what was the point?

This movie suffers from a confusing plot. All the characters are in search of a vile that kills paranormals, but you can't figure out what the film is really about. What is everyone doing and why? What keeps the movie going is really just the performances. The actors appear to take the work very seriously, but all I can think of is that the script must've looked great on paper. The movie is interesting, lame, ridiculous, pointless, but engaging all the same, not enough to watch twice. Why is the vile so important? How come so many have guns put to one another's heads throughout this with endless talking, but no one actually pulls the trigger? How come the good guys psychic powers are exceptional, except they seem to miss a beat when the bad guys show up and suddenly can't perform well? It's also unclear whether the Division is good or evil. Other than fine performances this movie lacks a point.

Very thought provoking film. Not a movie you want to watch while doing other thing. You can easily miss an important piece of information. I really enjoyed it. Not just an action movie.

push was a wonderful film, the whole movie was gripping, HUGE cliff-hanger ending.
i definately cannot wait for the second installment to come out.
i would definately reccomend this, but it does have quite a few frightening scenes, so i would pre-view this before you would allow your smaller children to watch it...

bottom line, great movie.

Push-over

I can see why this movie didn't make in in the theaters. You have to be into this genreget the show. The different names for the abilities (Mover, Stitch, Watcher, etc) can get a bit comfusing at times, but all in all a fun movie. So fix a cocktail, slip it in the DVD and enjoy the movie. I plan on watching it a couple (or more) times.
